I had a wonderful at the Sandown Lodge. It was incredibly easy to find, central to other locations and the whole check in process was very easy. Wonderful property, very clean and everyone on the property was friendly and helpful. 

Wonderful stay

Beautiful quiet area close to Rondebosch Main Road and Rondebosch Common. Set in a lush garden with an ancient oak tree, the room is beautifully set up with a generous full bathroom and crisp clean linen and towels. There are stylish outside tables complete with tablecloths and cushioned chairs for a charming ambience for meals or visitors. 

Splendid home from home

Friendly comfortable and perfectly situated for my visit to Cape Town.  Breakfast was well worth it with so many choices as well as made-to-order eggs and French press coffee.  Rooms had warming blankets under the sheets to help with the winter cold.  Only possible addition for me would have been a space heater.

Made me feel like home!

This was my 7th time staying at Sandown and it never disappoints. From the courteous staff to the amazing amenities this is a home away from home for me while visiting Cape Town. The rooms were well taken care of and the breakfasts were delicious each and every time. The location is right where I need to be and close to any exploring I choose to do. This is my definite go-to place for staying in Cape Town!

Always look forward to staying at Sandown

This is a superb B and B in Rondebosch Cape Town. We received a warm welcome from Vanessa and shown to a delightful room looking onto a small garden. We had secure off road parking and were served the most delicious breakfasts during our five days stay there. The staff were great with Helen  being particularly helpful in arranging our laundry. An exceptional B and B in Cape Town

Sandown is quite lovely with a beautiful garden, clean and a nice breakfast.  However, our room was small for a family suite and there was no other inside place to relax.  The owner was very perfectly nice but lacking in true warmth.

Nice property but overall an average expereince

We were a little disappointed with the accommodation and overall experience. Upstairs room is extremely hot, impossible to cool down as the sun hits the side wall all day long. Bed is very small and uncomfortable for a couple. This was not our first trip to South Africa, we know other guest houses and B&Bs and there are much better options for a fair price. Not recommended!

Not as we expected

We stayed in the Family Suite.  It was excellent.   Fabulous location, beautiful garden, wonderful breakfast, suite was decorated beautifully and well maintained. Cannot rate this high enought!  We are looking forward to returning very soon!

I booked this accommodation after having randomly found it on booking.com. We needed a place to stay while attending a conference at Cape Town Uni. Vanessa had been very helpful from the moment we've booked and from supporting with some administrative requests. She and her husband are both lovely host, as were their staffs. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay, where they provided freshly cooked breakfast and others to go along. You can also get some tips on what to do and see from them  so you wouldn't miss out on what Cape Town has to offer. The location was convenient with some stores located within walking distance or going around with Uber. 

There is this market on Saturday before we had to leave where locals who I assume were potters bring their unique handcrafted pottery products with amazing glazing decorations for sale. It was enjoyable to walk around and see they they have put up. 

Overall, a lovely stay, most if what needed are provided and adapters can be requests when needed.

cosy cape cottage feel. warm friendly service. tranquil peaceful stay. close to everything so very conveniently situated as well. superb breakfast every morning! can definitely recommend this for any business trip as well as a comfortable weekend away stay.
