Japhet was an exceptional waiter and took very good care of us. He was very attentive as a waiter and always ensured we were well taken care of. Very kind and very friendly gentleman too. We rate him very highly.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this 4 star hotel, the staff at reception  were most helpful and friendly. And the same can be said about the bar and wait staff at La Mizu Beach Bar. The buffet breakfast the Brasserie was varied and tasty, but by the fourth day it seemed items were being rehashed. Place settings were often without cups, spoons knives & forks etc.

Still a lovely experience

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay at Lagoon Beach Hotel through booking.com. We had stayed there in 2016 and we were very impressed at the time and wanted to return to the hotel.

It was such a disappointment this time around that we will never ever return there  again.

When we booked in, there was quite a delay and then the reservations manager informed us that there was a maintenance issue with our sea facing room and that they will have to put us in a smaller partial sea view room for one night and can only move us the next day to our room.
Room 318 was horrible - it was right next to a noisy busy conference/year end function with hundreds of people and loud music until 19h30 that night. The beat of the music was constantly drumming in our room and even in the hotel bar, you could hear it.
At night, we realized that the room is right next to the hotel's main hub of air-conditioners and machinery and there was a permanent humming engine noise all through the night. We didn't really sleep at all.

The next day we were moved to our room that we booked on the first floor, but low and behold, that night there was a group of people partying, drinking and shouting outside next to the swimming pool. At 23h30, I phoned reception and asked if they could ask them to move into the bar. After 2 phone calls and no results, I went to reception just before 24h00 and asked for the manager on duty who only then made the effort to get them inside the bar. By 01h00 in the morning, we already had changed our flight back to Pretoria a day earlier. Why pay thousands of rands to a hotel to get no rest or sleep if we can sleep peacefully in our own house for free?

They did offer us complimentary breakfast and/or dinner for the inconvenience with the rooms, but no food can unfortunately make up for lack of sleep.
 
After reading other reviews, it seems this hotel has changed completely into a party and conference venue and it appears they are not that concerned about paying guests who come to Cape Town for a relaxing weekend.

The staff in the bar and restaurant are actually very efficient and friendly and are really trying their best to make the guests happy. Sim, at breakfast, was so friendly and gave us such good service. It is a pity that the reception staff and management are not on the same level. 

     

Most uncomfortable hotel experience ever

The amazing stay for my birthday I had here was very breath taking we celebrated me and fun I was sad on my day because the weather wasnt good but guess what the staff made sure to pamper us with their treats and my mood went from zero to hundred we popped champaigns😊

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa offered us a very decent and memorable experience. Professional service, no excessive noise. Windy weather for the time we spent but that is natures will. Recommended for a relaxing time. 

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa couples retreat

I didn’t like the location and was expecting a better view. This hotel is clean but has no charm. It’s perfect for business but not for leisure. 
I wil not recommend it, as it is too expensive regarding the experience 

2 nights stay

I purchased this hotel on booking.com and it was listed as refundable but none of the bookings are refundable, you have to go through the Hotel. This hotel refused to refund my money and the hotel was not as clean as shown on the website.

Do not use booking.com

The position and view is indescribable.

We stayed in the apartments. 

Cleanliness let this place down.
Mould in the bathroom behind tissue box. In the shower. 

Verandah filthy 

The manager Smart is incredibly helpful and efficient.

Staff are willing and helpful.
However Many times they don’t deliver on requests.

Room service is shocking.

It should be abandoned or fixed.

Everything gets delivered cold!! In cardboard boxes. 

Great for the environment but awful to eat from.

A plate arrived with cold toast and I was told they want the plate back now!! Put toast on something else!! 

Hash browns - part of breakfast were not delivered. 

Second delivery was bad and expensive.

Don’t use room service.

The restaurant is fabulous.

Great food and service. 

We like having space but the apartments need upgrading and serviced better.

I’ll stay in the hotel next time.

Great spot

Excellent service, everything as seen on website.  The food so good to match my taste. I did not expect to see two swimming pool, both clean and neat. Last but not least, you guys have built good relationship with best reliable cabs to take us around. Credit to the Guy call Patric from Unecab, what a hospitality n care.
