Great Location, ideal for families, secure parking but the Hotel should spend more time on checking themselves if/when place gets clean. Not impressed with the housekeeping, no floors swept, nothing cleaned except for trash that was removed daily. I would recommend this place anytime if housekeeping actually clean the place.

Great Location, poor housekeeping

The place is well located close to all amenities,  however,  the apartment was not that convincingly clean on arrival and I suffered facial skin irritation and minor skin burn from the shower water as it contained too much chlorine. 

Majorca review

The picture on Booking,com misrepresents reality - the booking says aircon but there was no aircons anywhere in the apartment and it was hot in Cape Town...my small grandchildren suffered in the heat- 30 to 34 degs., single beds creaked and very uncomfortable, the apartment needs maintenance, 1 shower only for 3 rooms!!! We were promised that they will move us to a better apartment 3 times but it only happened in the last 3 nights out of the 9 nights that I booked. Booking.com should not put pics that look new but in fact they are old. I paid for a 3 bedroom Luxurious apartment that was advertised but was very very disappointed to be stuck in an oldish apartment.Not value for money at all. What is Booking.com going to do about this besides a cursory apology? I need a refund of at least 50% because of misleading advertising.

A disappointing holiday - will not go back there

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Majorca! They offered good service, a clean apartment, and the location was just fabulous! It’s was also the service of the security guards at the gate that was really impressive. We want to appreciate Michael, for his excellent service!

The stay was pleasant, just a walk to Canal Walk. the play area and scenery great. The room could use a bit of proper cleaning. The door handles were dirty and the doors to the bathrooms either need some painting or be cleaned properly

Pleasant Stay

Having enjoyed staying here a number of times over the years when visiting Cape Town, this was the obvious choice again for this visit, unfortunately it will be the last.
The particular unit is dated and in need of decoration. We were booked a one room unit and got a two room unit, however, the second room was locked and it contained the units safe?

Most of the furniture is the cheapest possible, despite the bed actually being comfortable. The bathroom shower door has screws for a handle? The kitchen is equipped with airline quality cutlery. We are currently in a load shedding time in South Africa with rolling blackouts and the host provides tea light candles, not the Magneto battery lamps which are pretty much standard in SA these days. The bathroom door handle on the inside came off, fortunataly we were two people in the room so one was able to get the other out of trouble. Had to ask for a fan, had to ask for a clothes drying rack etc etc. Can't use the TV because the satelite subscription is signed in elsewhere.

To 'compliment' the experience, the surrounding units are very very noisy and the area of Canal Walk, which is between the unit and the Century City mall, is now a hunting ground for beggars and gangs of youths on the bridges who hassle you - it's pretty intimidating for single women. Security is trying to move them on but without much success. 

Overall, the location is the key appeal, being close to Cape Town and the Century City mall with the shops and good selection of restaurants, but the apartments and the public spaces around them have taken a real nose dive.

We had a really bad experience with a booking at Majorca Island Club. 

The unit was disgusting. The pictures from Booking.com were NOTHING like the actual unit. It was dirty, hair in bathrooms, cigarette stompies in the toilets, smoke smell in the unit, curtains that were just about falling off. I am sorry I did not take more pictures - we were in a hurry to get out of there and find alternative accommodation for the night. 

Check-in process was not much better, arranged to check-in between 6 and 7pm and on arrival at 6pm was told that the agent was at the mall but only expected us at 7pm. 

On raising the complaint and requesting a refund we were met with a flat NO.

Extremely disappointing

Very centrally located and great view of the pool and round pond ,but the room is in desperate need of a refurbish and serious maintenance , bed is old and springy , doors don't open ,close and lock properly ,bath and shower trays need to be renewed , all furniture is old and falling apart 

Great location , room not up to scratch 

The Apartment was comfortable with beautiful views, we had a relaxed stay. The staff was very friendly over the phone call and upon check in. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thank you for everything

Excellent stay and a very welcoming staff

We spent a week in my nephew's time share, Flat Capri 302 at the Island Club. There were 6 of us, all family members.
The flat was beautifully appointed but had not been properly checked over before arrival.
The coffee maker was missing the carafe and as we arrived late in the day, we were told that we wouldn't have a replacement until mid morning the next day...obvious issue?
The oven had no shelves making it unusable, however these were provided the next day.
The second bathroom, not the one in the master bedroom, had a motion-sensored light which would turn off in two minutes if no motion was detected. This was an issue, other than the obvious, because the sensor pointed towards the door and if you were in the shower, it couldn't detect motion, neither would it if you were on the toilet. This was reported to the office on day one but was never addressed or even referred to after our report.
The advertised WiFi could only be used effectively in the bedroom opposite the front door and the one next to it. The rest of the apartment was a dead zone. We did get immediate (next day) response for our initial request for service as it was not working at all when we arrived. The technician was helpful in restoring limited access.
The secured building front door access frequently didn't work with the swipe key until we watched other tenants just give it a hard tug to gain access, without swiping!
Aside from those issues, clearly this development is well situated with easy access to any and all shopping you might want to do. 
All issues could have been avoided with a little attention to detail on the part of the property maintenance team. Also, it would be best if cleaning crew were assigned on a regular basis to the same apartments.
Also, please be sure to secure valuables in the safe. Unfortunately it is a small one so be advised.
