When we were choosing the place to stay in Cape Town we wanted it to be relatively close to the city center (as we saw it) and not far from the Hop-on-Hop-off bus stop. So Afribode Old Mutual satisfied both of these conditions. Yes, as it turned out the area around the place is hardly charming and very nice to walk around it, but it was OK and pretty close to the Greenmarket square,  Long street and Castle of the Good Hope. We walked in the neighbourhood after dark and never got into trouble.

The apartment we have booked was exactly as ut was shown online. The apointment with the host went smooth: we've arrived before the check-in and were let to leave the luggage, were given the key and were asked to return several hours later.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and cosy. The kitchen was equipped well, we could use Netflix and YouTube on TVset, the view was cool.

Even though its location is a minor disatvantage, I would recommend this place to Cape Town visitors.

Apartment clean, no noise, warm and nearer to shopping centres and Cape Town station.We had access to wifi through out our stay and one of our apartment was having netflix. We booked two apartments.Enjoyed

Apartment was most acceptable. Older building with good finishes- loads of character. It is self catering- so be prepared to get the smaller items to make your stay more comfortable. Does not seem to be serviced- so check. We will definitely use this again.    

Cape Town business trip

Booked 4 apartments and on arrival initially they only had a booking for 3!
Once the fourth booking was found (even though all were booked under one booking!) they then told us it wasn’t the apartment we had originally booked. It was smaller and not quite as nice as the one we booked.
The apartments are in a decent location to get around but unfortunately the area has become home to many homeless and beggars outside.
On arrival only two out of four key fobs were available to us and these were needed to get in/out of the building! I had to chase for over 24 hours for the others to be sorted and delivered to us.
The pool advertised is on the rooftop of the adjoining building so you have a good 5 min walk, partly through a car park! And again you need the correct access fob for this too and again we weren’t given all these.
The apartments themselves are fully equipped but are very hot. Air con is needed as they were quite unbearable without but we didn’t have air con in all rooms and the ones we had were only portable units which you had to keep refilling water every few hours otherwise you had wam air!
Disappointed with the communication and professionalism from the host on this occasion so would not recommend.

Please be careful. I stayed there almost two years ago. They double charged me and never returned the money.
The place was under repairs at the time so I had to leaver the lift on the higher floor and then walk back down. 
The room was reasonable.
