Beautifully located and it is definitely the best BnB we've stayed in, in de Kelders.  Gideon and Gill are generous hosts, and nothing was too much trouble.  Thank you for all the advice, you will see much more of us in the future.  

Exquisite Lodge

A lodge at the Cliff that provides a feeling of holiday. Wind, sun, beautiful views and the ocean. Gill and Gideon and ALL staff at Cliff Lodge are more than helpful and kind. Allthough this time only two nights at this wonderful location we enjoyed every minute. Not cheap but worth every Rand. We will definitely return if we will come again to Overberg area.  

Little Gem in de Kelders/Walker Bay

Liked This is the perfect hotel, fantastic view, excellent customer service, nice room, nice design, facilities, good Wifi, spacious parking, nice pool, very good breakfast, high involvement from the owner, good talks!
Disliked  · We had a ventilator and the temperature in the room was fine, but in a very hot day the room would probably need air-conditioning. This is not a complaint, it is mentioning a possible weakness.

Excellent stay at Cliff Lodge, probably the best hotel we have been in South Africa

If there would be 6 stars we would rate this place with 6! From hospitality to location to breakfast, everything was perfect! The hosts and staff were very friendly and welcoming, the location is breathtaking, the breakfast was excellent!

6 Stars!

The second we walked into this place it was as if we were embraced and cradled into a warm, family, it felt as if i had come home. The level of attention to detail, Gill and Gideon are people that decided to do this properly, we wanted for nothing. The generosity of care, support, laughter, ideas to help our trip, and coming home then to digest with them, EVERYONE in EVERY WAY was beautiful. Beds and linen, are of the highest quality, they override the load shedding with their own power source but somehow without generators, Breakfasts superb, homemade fresh cake always available, as is wine, spirits, and snacks through an honesty bar. Sparkling and still water is always available to fill your bottles up free of charge. We had the room with the outside bath and it was truly awesome to bathe under the African abundance of stars. Our room was cleaned by room angels as we were eating breakfast in such an unobtrusive way that we didn't know until we walked back in after breakfast and it was don!. We were left in a state of awe and wonderment that if this place can do it, why can't everyone else? I have stayed in many places of all different levels of accommodation but Cliff lodge, is 6* in a way that puts every 5*hotel to shame. they are amazing, do NOT miss this place,

inspirational, awesome and stunningly beautiful

Our 6th visit to Cliff Lodge and it goes from strength to strength. Some places with exceptional surroundings let other aspects of their offer slide. This couldn’t be further from the truth here. Gill and Gideon are fantastic hosts and have nurtured a loyal, friendly and efficient team to look after guests impeccably and always tailored to your own needs. Accommodation is beautifully presented and serviced daily in the self catering cottage where we stayed. Food, coffee, not-so-mini bar, laundry, local recommendations all covered. And easily the best land-based whale watching in the world during the season. We’ll be back as soon as we can. 

Fabulous in every way

This is the second time we have stayed at Cliff Lodge and it was just as good as the first stay. This is a very comfortable location to stay. The rooms are well appointed and are all different. There is a lovely lounge for guests to relasx in, which opens into a conservatory over looking the sea. You can sit in the conservatory with a drink in hand and a piece of cake and enjoy watching the whales. The owners of this property, and all the staff are so helpful. They will book local boat trips, provide suggestions on where to visit, book a restuarants for your evening meal and will drop you off in the next town, so that you can walk back along the cliff path.

Great location for whale watching

Wow just wow. I stayed here with my family recently and I can't recommend it highly enough. Gideon and his amazing team were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us from making dinner reservations to organising taxis and trips. The location is just stunning overlooking the bay. The rooms are very clean and well appointed and our room, the North Suite, had sea views. We spent hours just watching the whales displaying in the bay. The breakfasts were delicious and freshly prepared. We can't thank you enough for creating special family memories for us. 

Just stunning

I wish I lived here. We stayed in the Cliff house. The view of the deck is jaw dropping. The ladies made breakfast in the kitchen in the morning. The staff couldn’t be better and the lodging was wonderful. 1000% recommend. 

I would for real life here.

Beautiful surroundings. Lovely attention to detail from staff with the freshly-baked cake and the breakfasts a highlight. Stunning views and the team are happy to help you source day trips if need be. Can’t wait to go back
