We camp for four nights at farm. Beautiful nature in highveld. Nice and clean ablutions. (Workers sanitized ablutions even late in evenings.) Birders and fishermen's paradise. Nice four-wheel drive routes on farm. Nice swimmingpool and lots to do for children. Reasonably priced.

Relaxed camping and fishing

The farm is about 10km from Dullstroom. We Loved the peaceful atmosphere. I will describe the unit as cosy and clean. Nice play area for the kids. We had a lovely weekend away. Great for some family time! 

Beautiful view and peaceful 

Very quiet secluded place. The dirt road leading to the farm is horrible. Don't drive fast. The chalets where we stayed was old with no bathroom so don't expect 5 star goodies. NO TV(GREAT!). We had to use Communial bathrooms that were old and is in need of refurbishment. The stay itself was quiet and even the other guests wasn't noisy. The hot under roof pool was clean. Plenty of space to explore on foot or you can have a self drive site seeing. We felt safe in the evening wilst having a braai. Trout farm means you can take your rod with and fish away at one of te dams(I didn't). It is a working farm and bussiness as usual but it wasn't a problem. A lot of historical happenings regarding the farm and it is very interresting. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Not to bad.

While the location is beautiful, our peace an quite so needed was marred by the construction of a fence for an upcoming event on the long week-end.
Not only was the noice of hammering steel rods into the earth annoying but our view of the dam obstructed by yellow and orange fence material..

Not to mention associated risk for children who run an play where waist high unmarked wire fencing were strung around the campsites.

No guys! This on not how you treat paying guests..

Business as usual!

We had a lovely camping experience. We picked the weather :) but that is just typical of Dullstroom, the mist and the rain contributed to the whole Dullstroom atmosphere. The ablutions are old but clean and there is hot water. The staff is super friendly and most helpful. The views on the farm is beautiful and the farm animals are lovely. We had a great fishing experience, my husband and son caught there share of trout. We will definitely be back !

Lovely camping experience !

The Wooden House at Elandskloof Trout Farm was very disappointing. Cheap, but a little attention to detail would make a difference.  There were many bits and pieces on the walls - very few were straight, not slightly crooked but really tilted. I was happy to bring my own towel, judging by the table cloth.  I brought my own pillow - thank goodness - the pillows looked awful. I slept in a single bed but the sheet was too small to tuck in - no mattress cover, just a 'lap' which also didn't stay in place. The kitchen was well equipped. Patio pleasant. Three bedrooms with two ensuite just doesn't work for adults.. Fine for kids to walk into parents room, but no good for friends.I wont be back and wont recommend ETF to any friends - they would probably shoot me!

Clean but unattractive, neglected, poorly presented.

The pillows and mattresses in the bungalows were of shocking quality!
The kettle, pots and utensils were also very basic.
There is no microwave to warm up food.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed one night as a stop-over during our road trip. Cabin was basic yet clean and fully equipped for self-service. Rural getaway. Shared bathrooms weren't spotless, but functional. So-called swimming pool resembled more or less a pond rather than a pool. 

Basic & tidy

Stayed in "luxury" chalet for the weekend. What a joke to describe accommodation with an adjective like that. Had to bring own towels, pillows were disgusting (pieces of foam surrounded with pillowcase), had to supply own dishwashing liquid & cloth (service didn't include washing dishes), had to supply own soap for shower. No shallow pan supplied with which to cook. Braai in terrible state of disrepair - coals mostly fell out onto ground. View shown on website pictures bore little resemblance to the view from our chalet. No patio on which to sit. Terrible furniture and decor. Rude service from owner / manager - no encouragement to enjoy our stay, nor any enquiring at end.
