Ficksburg

Absolute tranquility in the beautiful grasslands of the Eastern Free-State, between the mountains.  A natural spring on the property allows for a frog choir at night. Eland and Zebra grazing on the grass lawn in front of your room. Dinner was a 3-course meal, excellently prepared by the chef. Breakfast was served on the stoep of the Manor House.

The beauty of nature

Ordinary rooms are very basic toilet and shower is inbuilt in the room like a closet.
Break fast is the only charm, very limited options for lunch and dinner glad they allowed the barrai for us best fun if you love horses and ride 

Moolamsheok

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Moolmanshoek, such a beautiful tranquil setting, with stunning game. we enjoyed hikes, horse rides (you get so close to the wildlife while on horse back :)), a night game drive and the most divine meals. I am a vegetarian and the chef went out of his way to create the best vegetarian meals ever for me. The breakfast was served on the patio with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains, the croissants and muffins were amazing. All the staff were phenomenal and went out of their way to make sure that we had a lovely stay there. My son hiked 47kms with Scouts through Moolmanshoek, the hike was challenging but they had an amazing time. There are different options of hikes to suit everyone's needs. We would definitely recommend Moolmanshoek to anyone wanting a few days break from City life. Can't wait to go back again soon :)

Amazing stay at Moolmanshoek

We had the best trails of our lives! We were very well received. The place is beautiful. We saw so many animals during the trails, swimming with the horses was an unforgettable expérience. Horses are very well trained and have very good tempérament and behaviour! The food was very good, we appreciated a lot the breakfast with the vue on the mountains! Thanks to all Moolmanshoek Team. We will come back as soon as we can!! 

Discovering the SA Boerperd Horses

We enjoyed a great few days at Moolmanshoek. Just a treat to be riding with Wiesman again and to remember our friend Leon Liversage Snr. Great horses on which to observe a wide variety of game and for Wiesman to provide memorable riding experiences. Hospitality first class. Looking forward to returning. 

Another great time at Moolmanshoek

Moolmanshoek offered us much needed tranquillity and wonderful space to spend as a family.  The team is kind, the food tasty, comfortable rooms with plenty of outside spaces to enjoy nature.  You have to stay long enough to try all the dishes on the breakfast menu!

A piece of heaven

This place is amazing. You NEED to go there. It is the most peaceful, wonderful place you will find yourself. The views from the rooms are breathtaking. This is the perfect stay for family or just a romantic get away. 

Moolmanshoek

This trip was my second experience at Moolmanshoek. Right from the onset, I was not only intrigued by the rich history and the interesting transitional story of the land, but also with the passion and knowledge of the people carried forward through generations. 

Moolmanshoek not only offers a plethora of activity to keep the most energetic tourist occupied, but also the serenity of environment for those who only wishes to experience and ingest the tranquility of the environment and seek respite from an otherwise busy life.  

The people of Moolmanshoek are one-of-a-kind in their engagement of guests in making them feel at home and part of the family. 

The reserve is geared as a year-round destination and makes a welcome home throughout all seasons. Rooms are spacious and warm and the lodge caters for ant type of guest.  

Most of the roads leading to the reserve are ridden with potholes, so it is advisable to travel with robust transport. Also extra care should be taken when driving,  so as not to spoil your outing with punctures and breakdowns. 

The short dirt road leading to the lodge is in great condition and we found it well maintained every time we visited. 

Come fully prepared to participate in the full offering of services provided. 

Fun on the run

Mafie and her team made our trip exceptional. 

From the food, service and facilities to the breathtaking views. We will definitely be returning to experience some more of this wonderful place in the near future. 

Work trip

everyone looks for a place where you can catch your breath, slow down and take cognisance of the present.  At Moolmanshoek, you get to do all of this and more...The horses are sure-footed and live naturally - no over- pampering.  The scenery is breath-taking. The beds are so comfortable and welcoming after a hard days' ride.  The food is literally and figuritively, food for the soul.  The owners and staff work 24/7 to ensure your stay is as close to perfect as possible.  This farm is truly Mother Nature at her best.  My daughter Jess and I, will definately be back.  Thank you.
