Victor and the team are so helpful but also give time and space to chill out and relax.  The room is beautiful and spacious. And everything has been thought of. The location is ideal for going into Franschoek but also visiting other parts of the Winelands.

Lovely winelands stay

Accommodation was first class. The gardens in pristine condition. We had breakfast in the beautiful Manor house which was excellent.

Estate is 5 minute drive from centre of Franshoek which was suitable for us. Tranquil and views all around us.

Staff so helpful and pleasant especially Victor.

Beautiful gardens and views too. Excetionally caring family owned boutique vineyard.

Home Away from Home

The Fransvliet Cottage is ideal if you love wine and want to indulge in Franschhoek and its joie de vivre. If you go explore by foot (La Motte & Klein Goederust are just a few minutes walk away), want to drive out to town or visit the estates beyond, or, even better, enjoy your yield of the day in the privacy of the cottage. The cottage has ample space and is ideal for 2 couples, with a braai and private pool to entertain at home if you don`t feel like going out. Internet is stable and fast enough for zoom calls if you have to, but work feels far away at Fransvliet. Next time we`ll rent bikes for sure to explore the mountains and the Berg River Dam just behind the estate. Thank you for a great stay!

The best experience in Franschhoek

We stayed at the Fransvliet Self-Catering Country Cottage in November 2022. What a time to visit, with the gardens in full bloom, wonderful weather and colours that no camera can catch. 

Fransvliet Estate is a small and personal estate that shows the owner`s love and care to their property in every detail. The cottage is way more spacious than the picture can even show, with the highest ceilings, 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with big walk-in showers and a bath in each (most comfortable evening spent here with a good bottle of wine and views of the garden from the bath!). The kitchen has everything you will ever need for your stay, even a dishwasher which makes life with 4 people really easy.

A really good bean to cup coffee machine gives you to the perfect start to the day and the fire place ends it perfectly.

Thank you for welcoming us with open arms. True about the breakfast, it is delicious, such a big treat. We will definitely be back. Just a pity you are not pet friendly. The best part for me was when you go to breakfast and you are greeted with a nice big friendly smile. Feels like home

Happiness and satisfaction all round

Well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable accommodation. Victor and the staff at Fransvliet were so willing to help with all our requests when we stayed here for the weekend that my daughter was getting married at The Conservatory, a wedding venue very close to Fransvliet.

A lovely place to stay in the Franschhoek Valley, right amongst the vineyards.  Excellent breakfast and the staff were very friendly. Less than an hour north of Cape Town. An ideal place to base yourself to explore this magnificent region. Good restaurants around as well.
