What you see on the Afristay app is not what you get. If you are a serious caravanner stay away from this terrible joint in the middle of nowhere. When you complain you are threatened. I am taking legal action against this joint because the owner do not keep up to any of her promises.

Made a booking via a travel website (after contacting Siloam they recommended doing it this way as they had a 'staff shortage'). Paid for it in full and 3 days later I was contacted by the booking agent to
 cancel the reservation. NO explanation OR apology was provided. I subsequently contacted the owner but she chose not to respond.

Best services, the rooms were very clean and entertainment pool facilities were welcoming and user friendly  and Manager's families retreat was spot on.Other guests were cool and friendly, it was a best environment to be in.

Stayed one night with our caravan. The camping site was clean, private and serviced with water, braai and electicity. Very clean, well run and save camp facility with a management team that went out of their way to assist us. I got stuck in the mud near the Gariep dam on a fishing trip and they send their own son to recover my vehicle. Will stay there again in future.

Siloam Village Gariep

No nearby activities but overall the area is lovely and quiet not the ideal place for teenagers. Caroline and staff were very helpfull and welcoming.
Will definitely visit again with friends and famil

Lovely

Great time... We were fron Westrand to King William's Town and stayed over braaied swam and it was great in all aspects. The tjecing out were professional and we were sens off knowing we were coming back on our return.... Again exelant host's 

Overnight

This is a unique place to stay. It has a country atmosphere , very safe and comfortable place. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lot off activities to do onsite. Place is neat and clean with two showers and two toilets . Can recommend this place anytime.

Lovely place to visit. Met with a friendly smile and warm atmosphere.
Rooms were neat and tidy and surrroundings as well.
Would have been nice to have the use of the swimmimg pool but rather cold this time of year.



ACCOMODATION

If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay overlooking the Gariep dam, do not believe this establishment's claim to offer both. If however you are wanting a location for a group booking specialising in religious, school or team building, this may be for you. We (a family gathering of 7 adults and 3 children) booked on the basis of the advertised facilities: we needed 5 bedrooms (our unit had only 4); we wanted the view of the dam (there was none). We needed self-catering: the "kitchen" was minute, no space for more than one person in there at a time and with the most basic of equipment. The patio area was long and very narrow with a high wall both sides affording no view at all except of the sky above. We expected plenty of outside activities as advertised: once we had spent time at the pool (in my opinion Siloam's best feature) and walked along the concreted putt-putt course (precariously positioned, at times, near the electric fence), seen the geese, rabbits, bantams and pigs, (whatever happened to the advertised camel?), we had exhausted the facilities.

Beware false advertising!

We stayed one night in the Fisherman's cabin. The room was clean and had everything we needed for one night. The bathrooms are separate the cabin, but for one night this did not bother us. The owners called us in advance to ensure that we know what we are getting, how to travel to Siloam Village and warn us in advance that they do have a wedding on the day and there would be loud music until midnight. We did appreciate this and would consider the service very good. We would recommend the owners to install an intercom at the gate which can be used by guests in order to come and go as they please and put up a sign of no hooting. The cabin was closed to the gate and the constant hooting of guests to get in and out did bother us a lot especially in the early morning hours.
