One of the friendliest, courteous and helpful staff I've ever had the pleasure of staying with, in South Africa and elsewhere. Nicky helped me substantially plan my trip and tours and responded to many questions about the community as i had never been before, and the courtesy continued throughout my stay. The accommodation was incredibly comfortable, convenient, and with excellent meals and the wider estate was beautiful, accessible and frankly felt like a real home away from home. Graaff-Reinet is a lovely community, and Cypress Cottage is the best representation of it. I cannot recommend highly enough! Thanks to Nicky and the team!

5-start experience in Graaf-Reinet

Outstanding place to stay, truly charming!  Lovely guest house with historic charm with breathtaking views from the surrounding gardens.  The manager Nicki was incredibly helpful and welcoming.  We had made a mistake with our booking and had gotten too small of a room for our family but she had proactively shifted our reservation to a family friendly cottage.  The breakfast was superb, delicious and hearty.  Everything was impeccably clean.  
Our only regret is that we didn't stay here longer.  We'd give it 10 stars if we could!  This must be Graaf-Reinet's best kept secret!

Such an amazing place to stay in Graaf-Reinet!

What an great over night stay!  The cottage made us felt like our own home - the pillows are the fluffiest we ever slept on.  The breakfast was a lovely fresh spread prepared with lots of love.  Safe parking, great bedding and YIPPEE solar panels!!! Our hostess was so warm friendly and made our stay very special.  We will definitely be back in future.  Spoil yourself and book with Cypress Cottage.

Fantastic guesthouse with SOLAR PANELS and fantastic breakfast!

We book accommodation in November for long stay in new year for project we have.

We paid in advance on an agreed rate in 2018.

Owner seems to forget as per email as per aggreed rate.

Since them we always get arrested at 7h in the morning even if the smallest chicken bone have been found on the floor when they come to clean the room the next day. Self catering cottage.

Terrible with her staff and shouting at them. 

Dishonest in all her dealing. 

Always communicate per email to have proof as she will try to do you in around the next corner with the rate.

Disgrace of service and manners from owner

We had two nights in Graaff-Reinet staying at Cypress Cottage - a very comfortable traditional townhouse in the old part of town - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come again. Highlights were breakfast and the lovely garden to sit in the shade.

Lovely stay

Cudos to Hillary and her daughter - what a superb place to overnight - will definitely book again.  Hillary accepted a last minute booking - we were so delayed by roadworks from Cape Town to Johannesburg and arrived twenty minutes before load-shedding, she was there showed us around and pointed out the candles and matches.

The furnishings were out of this world, superbly matched the era the cottage was built in.  I highly recommend staying at Cypress Cottages.  Lin Smith

Last minute booking

Ideally situated to explore Graaff -Reinet & Surrounds. Riverbend Cottage is spacious & comfortable flatlet - perfect for a self catering getaway . Highly recommended and within close proximity and local restaurants. Thank you for a lovely stay!
