Phil and Margi, the property owners, are the best! They went above and beyond to help me to plan my trip, make my stay enjoyable, and make me feel like I was not just a guest at their lodge, but perhaps a friend. 
The lodge is minutes away from Kruger National Park and they helped arrange safaris for me. The rangers on both of my safaris were knowledgeable and friendly. Since I left for the safaris very early in the morning, Margi packed some breakfast for me and let me tell you - she makes great sandwiches.

Is there a way to give this place more than 5 stars?

If you come from Europe and you’re heading towards the Krugerpark, Hazyview is a convenient first stop. You’ll drive from JNB in about 5 hours to the Blue Jay Lodge. This lodge is about 15‘ from the Phalabora Gate, so you can have after a good night rest and a marvelous breakfast your first game drive in the park. 
The lodge is very nicely located in a beautiful garden, the bedrooms are specious and well maintained and the host Margy and Phil are open minded and very friendly and helpful.
We as Africa aficionados can remommend this

First stop in South Africa

Philippe & Margi we’re our lovely hosts at Blue Jay lodge with lots of info and advice on what to visit during our stay with them. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities. Definitely recommendable!

Great hosts!

We stayed in the self catering lodge for 7 nights. Communication with Phil & Margi was excellent prior to our stay and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel  so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped make our visit so special. We arrived as guests and left feeling more like friends. Thank you so much.

Amazing stay

This is one of the very few places where the place is as beautiful as the pictures online. My family and I got way more than we expected! Phil and Margi are among the kindest and most generous hosts we've ever met. Their hospitality clearly sets the highest standards, from complimentary refreshments to information and flexibility. Bedrooms are fantastic, poolside area is lush, tranquil and relaxing, and breakfasts are phenomenal. No better way to start a day on holiday than with Phil's delicious freshly brewed coffee. Can't wait to return!

Just perfect

It was a perfect start into our holidays. We enjoyed the stay in the lodge around the beauftiful garden. 
The breakfast on the terrace and the breakfast box for safari is very delicious. 
Margi und Phil are the best host, they are so friendly and helpful. 
We are thankful that we met them and could be part of their life.

Fantastic start to the holidays

Phil and Marge are great hosts. The accomodation is situated in a nice green garden, which gives you the idea of being in the jungle. Very good breakfast! 
Also the staff gave a great service.
When we ever come back to Hazyview, we will stay here again!

We had a lovely stay with very welcoming hosts.  The room was luxuriously furnished and the garden was beautiful.  
The breakfast was great.
The perfect place to visit Kruger National Park.
