We stayed at Lions Rock Golf Lodge Over Valentines weekend, the room was well cleaned and tidy. The breakfast was served in the reception area and was great. The only thing that management can sort out is the bathtub of which the pump is not functioning, the whole pump is covered with soil and hasn’t been working for quite some time. Other than that we had a nice stay.

Average Stay

What a lovely place to get away from the craziness that was 2020! With each unit having it's own splash pool, we were guaranteed privacy and safety while still being able to enjoy soaking up some sun in the pool, and just relaxing! The room configuration and amenities is also quite lovely, although I do think they could pay more attention to cleaning the shower and toilet - seemed like it's just wiped down, not scrubbed...be sure to carry your sanitizer (this applies to anywhere you go now)! While there is a lovely private braai area, cutlery and crockery is minimal, so also maybe carry along a Tupperware to store your cooked meat. Breakfast was basic - the hot breakfast being sausages and eggs with toast (we were told they alternate mushrooms and baked beans, but there was none), and the regular cold breakfast of cereals, muesli and yoghurt, and some fruit - I must admit the muffins were excellent! Staff are super friendly and helpful, always smiling and accommodating - they arranged our game drive to Kruger National Park, quickly and efficiently, packed a brekkie box to take along and we were picked up from the lodge. Overall, our stay was quite pleasant.

Relax in your private pool @ Lion's Rock

I loved our room private pool it was really nice and the friendly staff very nice will definitely come again. The location was good for relaxing far away from busy cities,. Will definitely recommend any1 to book there


Amazing service

The lodge side of this place is badly run down....for a 3-4 star and at that price, it’s disappointing and misleading. TripAdvisor has got to re-visit the status of this lodge and update their page with a variety of pictures ( not just the pictures with a bed and the main space in close view, leaving a lot to be desired about their bathrooms and the exteriors). Serious renovations are long overdue. From broken window latches, wasp/bees nests right in front of unit 3, noisy ceiling fan as the only source of cooling on a hot summer’s night, mould in the showers, bathroom/ toilet stench, poor quality of breakfast which lacked effort and variety, broken braai equipment to overgrown grass all around the lodge. No wonder there aren’t any bathroom or exterior pictures in any of the webpages that I visited. I really regretted my decision. 

Disappointed and mislead by the webpage

Lions Rock Lodge is definitely a little piece of heaven. It's beautiful, serene and the staff are super friendly. A perfect getaway to relax and give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle of city living.

It is a very nice place,very intimate and spacious.Me and my partner enjoyed de facilities view and the private pool and braai area.it is clean and the satff was also nive and friendly and offered good service 

Couples outing

The expectations from the website was far from the actual accomodation. 
Website promotes stunning accomodation but actual accomodation was very run down and needs serious attention. General maintenance is lacking. 

Dissapointing

It was a breath of fresh air how friendly the staff were, felt like I left there having made friends. Being able to see hippos on our way to dinner was breath taking. It was a Wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Amazing

The team at Lions Rock really looked after us. They brought us a gorgeous bottle of white wine in celebration of our anniversary. The rooms are incredible: Jacuzzi bath indoors, and a pool outside - our own pool for our room. I'd certainly recommend this place.

A blissful getaway

Place is clean and beautiful but I don't understand the whole two double beds when we stated we a couple and so we told that's how it is. We had a private Jacuzzi that wasn't working and they said it will be fixed. We even left without enjoying that benefit. We asked to be booked for Lunch and Supper on the Saturday but they never got back to us.
Wasn't really value for money.
