Warm and welcoming staff plus an all round great atmosphere ensured we all enjoyed a very relaxing week. The bonus was the top class spa where we treated ourselves to treatments from massages to facials and even enjoyed the hairdresser. The restaurant serves delicious meals.
Only the gym could do with a bit of extra care.

Africa gem on the doorstep of Kruger

Beautiful resort with plenty of helpful staff found. They kept the landscaping impeccable. Our unit and deck area was cleaned daily except Sundays when staff deserve the day off. Very large clean pool area. We enjoyed the safaris and the Panorama tour. The food at the restaurant was wonderful. We were there in September when it seemed less full which was great for us. Very glad we chose to visit Sanbonani! Learned to play cards by candle light during the load shedding times. 

First time in Africa trip with family

We stayed in one of the chalets at Sanbonani Hotel Resort for a week. Our chalet was large and comfortable within a well-maintained and secure estate. At times of load-shedding, there was limited emergency lighting in the chalet but the main hotel building had its own backup power so remained fully functional. We were using the Resort as a base for visiting Kruger National Park; it was very convenient for this as it is one of the nearest resorts to the Phabeni Gate (c. 10 min. drive). The chalet itself overlooked the Sabie River where one can walk (at one's own risk, taking heed of the croc/hippo warnings) - this area was good for birding. As we were out for most daylight hours, we did not use the self-catering or braai facilities much but the level of equipment is quite good. The restaurant was pleasant and the meals of good quality although the menu is rather limited and very meat-based. The nice Sunday night buffet provided some variety and was accompanied by an excellent drumming and dancing troupe. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and pleasant. The resort has some good facilities including the pool and floodlit tennis courts as well as the spa.

A good base in Hazyview

One of the best Hotels Resorts that I had been to during my visit to Kruger National Park.
This resort is close to the shopping area and the Pabeni gate. The concierge also helps to book u tickets to the park and other activities at discounted rates.

Kruger National Park / Sanbonani Resorts

Excellent lodge near Kruger NP.  We stayed three nights with G Adventures family tour.  Excellent room for family.  Attractive facility and grounds.  Buffet meals very good.  Early morning breakfasts and sumptuous bag lunches provided before sunrise game drives.  Highly recommended.

Great lodge near Kruger NP

We’ve been coming to the Sanbonani 2 and 3-BR chalets for years (hotel is here too) with grills and views.  And it’s basically in some of the best condition I’ve seen it.  Great for kids and families.  

It has the largest pool in the area and lots of sports and activities - the biggest plus is probably the most beautiful grounds/trees/biodiversity  in the area.  New Years had a nice party with a DJ who played a lot of different types of music getting everyone dancing at the end.  When we arrived we saw the biggest Santa chair ever.  We went to Kruger on Jan 1 a little late with no lines.  

The restaurant has improved with a great pizza with extra cheese  and good coffee and a standard buffet breakfast.  A store serves low-fat ice cream  that the kids like and other supplies. Drinks available too and a travel guide with Kruger pickups and massage place (best massage ever next door). 

New Year’s Week!

The restaurant was very nice and the food was very good. The pool was beautiful. The grounds were very well kept and lovely. The unit was very large and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Nice friendly place to be

Had supper at the restaurant on 16 September. Service was very slow. Cocktails were watered down and tasteless. Chicken was so under done we couldn't eat it. T-bone was paper thin, cold and over done. At the prices they charge we expected a decent meal but received the opposite.

Beautiful resort, but service and food at the restaurant was terrible.

We stayed at this resort during a tour arranged by another company.  The hotel was lovely, the grounds and pool were beautiful and it has great amenities but the front of house staff was not as friendly or helpful as the rest of the hotels we visited on our tour.  The WiFi is unreliable and we kept getting kicked off so if you are counting on that as an amenity I would recommend another location.  I had very little interaction with the other staff members so my customer service experience was limited to the reservations desk and the hostess in the restaurant.

Beautiful resort with great amenities but customer service is lacking

The cottages are a bit dated and would need a refreshment, however the facility offers many amenities and staff is extremely available. Another positive aspect is the 24-hour security in an area that I would dare say difficult.
