Has all been said - I seldom return to the same place, but we will be back to Sandals - amazing venue and service. Awesome attention to detail. Duchies restaurant - a short stroll away - was also exceptional.

Exceptional service

We were greeted by a very welcoming Chakka and his wife Grace who showed us to our room and served us coffee and biscuits. 
The accommodation  was amazing, the room and shared lounge area was decorated to such a high standard it could have been someone’s home and not a room for hire. 
A large balcony overlooked the ocean and using binoculars provided by Chakka we watched an abundance of whales fairly close to the surf and later followed the path from the garden down to the fantastic Indian Ocean where we took a welcome dip.

Once you enter your accommodations, you feel as though you are on a movie set.  Every detail is thought of:  lighting, comfort, decor.  The place is absolutely lovely, it is very well situated overlooking Grotto Beach, which is a short walk away down a private path.

The owners are very concerned with your comfort.

Terrific B & B, like a Call forniaDream

We stayed there for a night with my friends. We absolutely loved the place. The view is amazing and the place has been decorated very tastefully. We had everything we needed : we could even have a BBQ on the terrace. There's a direct access to the cliff pathway as well, which was wonderful.
The only remark is that we booked this place on a hotel booking website and nowhere was it mentioned that it's actually the upstairs part of a private home with the owners actually living on the ground floor. They're very lovely people but it's not a hotel and therefore one doesn't feel as independent as one would in a hotel. It felt Like the hosts wanted to chat with us , particularly the man. He who wrote a book and was very eager to share his views on the world, god and so on. 

I found it quite surprising too that I wasn't able to leave a review on the hotel booking website only 3 days after I left. I feel like everything has been overly controlled.

I'd still recommend the place for sure but I'd also recommend the hosts advertise this place as a b&b and not a hotel.

Superbly located. The sound of the surf soothes you all day long.
Our hosts Lorraine and Matthys were so discrete and yet made sure that we had everything we required. Nothing was too much trouble.
World class service in Hermanus !
Superb restaurants abound but try Dutchies amazing seafood, a stroll away.

Exceptional. World class.

We stayed 2 nights in this exceptional house, next to the beach. Lorraine and Matthijs received us with a warm hart in their home. The apartment we stayed in is very spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable and with fantastic views. On our last morning we did see from our room at least ten whales swimming by, some of them breaching.

Fantastic house on an exceptional location

What a knockout place to stay. Lorraine and Matthys have put so much style and effort into making this guest house such a treat. The location, although a couple of miles out of town, is magnificent with 2 of the 3 rooms having wonderful balconies overlooking the sea and a walk down some steps takes you right on to the beach. The communal lounge and dining area were immaculate. Whilst we were not provided with a full breakfast, in accordance with their advert, cereals etc. were available in the kitchen area along with all the necessary crockery, appliances, etc. to prepare any meals (Washing up done by the staff). Best not to get into philosophical discussions with Matthys, just read his book in the bedside cabinet
