Such a gem. So chill and unpretentious and now I have the problem that Im quite unhappy to accept that being there is not my regular life.
The energy, the vibe, the ocean as your back yard. How else is a person supposed to live?
I will 100% be back.

A gem

The location, service, friendliness, the well equipped house all led to a very special time for our family. We took my elderly mum, who so enjoyed her time. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. One of my favorite experiences was the outside shower enjoyed while watch the stars. 

Brilliant weekend 

Had an amazing time at The Surf House!  Nick and Mari were awesome host and knowledgeable about the area and local surf breaks.  Mari had yoga classes in the evenings which were fantastic!   Highly highly recommend staying here!  Such good vibes and epic surroundings!

Good Vibes!  Epic Spot!

This little seaside gem is absolutely perfect for a quiet beach getaway, with direct access onto a beautiful beach. The bungalow is light and airy and freshly decorated, lots of attention to detail and the most comfortable bed in a beautiful loft. We LOVED the outdoor shower and the relaxing atmosphere, did not want to leave! I will definitely spread the word and hopefully be back to visit soon! Thank you for a top class experience!

Light & airy quaint beach bungalow perfect for a peaceful beach getaway

We had a fantastic stay! It was absolutely serene and relaxing. I would definitely recommend it. If you love the beach and surfing, this is the place for you. The bungalow was so cute and had everything we needed. Not to mention the sublime outside shower! Thank you to the hosts!

Relaxing experience!

I have stayed at the surf house, more than a dozen times over the past several years, most recently being this past weekend, as always the managers kept a neat and tidy ship and ensured all guests could leave when needed and were not parked in. I will stay at the Surf Again probably a few more times this year.

Great Vibe, Chilled Atmosphere, Friendly Hosts

The location is lovely, the tree house (made during lockdown) is a great addition too as you can climb it to watch the whales and dolphins. The room and communal areas were always clean (although my room wasn't cleaned during my week stay but not sure if that was normal or not but I didn't mind) the cleaning staff are very friendly and efficient. Kitchen well organised, plenty of space and utensils.
I loved the dogs, they're so friendly but you have to be very careful not to run the over or let them out! The cat kept coming into my friends hut where her and her family stayed, which was a bit annoying as she's very hairy and scrounging for food.
The one thing I would say is the attitude from the couple running it was a bit off, especially towards my friends that booked to stay with their kids half way through my stay (who actually live locally) it was clear they didn't like my friends or care for the kids that much, there was some attitude towards us borrowing an extra life from the communal kitchen, which we washed and brought back straight away anyway. My friends kid stepped on a surf board with one foot which was lying on the floor outside out back and the owner was quite annoyed, despite my friend pulling her kid off it as soon as she saw and telling him off. Kids are kids though and maybe the board should be put away if it's that precious, when there are young children around. I felt quite sorry for my friends staying their as they had paid for me and themselves to have a holiday here and were greeted with some aminosity at times, which made no sense. Apart from that, it's a lovely place to stay and chill, very relaxed and beautifully kept. Highly reccomend for surfers and solo/friend travellers. 

Lovely place by the sea with awesome beachy huts and tree house. 

We just had our 4th stay at Umzumbe Surf Camp for a week, and we enjoyed it as always. Friendly staff, beautiful environment, chilled vibes: everything you want at a beach backpackers! We will definitely be back soon.

Already planning our next trip!

We recently hosted a 5 day Surf Progression Clinic at Umzumbe Surf Camp and had the best time possible! There was a big group of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It is really epic to be able to walk straight down onto the beach and surf out front of the camp. The property was very well kept and the surf house and bungalows were always kept clean during our stay. The management staff, Nick and Mari, were truly incredible in making us feel at home and helping us out with all our requests. The cleaning ladies were an absolute blessing as well. I highly highly recommend staying here to anyone. We will most definitely be back!! We arrived as strangers and left as family. THANK YOU UMZUMBE SURF CAMP!!

If you ever want to go somewhere this is the place! Beautiful, relaxing, amazing staff and just the best!! Oh and that outside shower is the best idea ever! The bungalows are so amazing! Can't wait to go back😊
