This was our second visit to Blackbrook Farm and it was just as wonderful as when we were there last September. The landscape was transformed from the winter colours into brilliant greens and the dams were full and the streams, bubbling. The cottages have every convenience and home comfort imaginable and the securely fenced, HUGE, yard is wonderful for dogs! Krissi is a fabulous hostess. The shops and restaurants of Underberg are 10 minutes away. If they offered time-share at Blackbrook, we’d take it! Best pet-friendly accommodation we’ve ever found.

Heaven on earth for dogs (and people)!

This self-catering accommodation offers everything it purports to and more. 

Everything you could need has been anticipated by the hosts. Comfortable and unpretentious accommodation that makes you feel at home immediately.

Excellent instructions and guidance provided for all eventualities.

Location offers complete peace and rural outlook, but with amenities and excellent shopping within a few kilometres. Surrounding area presents many options for dining out.

Outstanding Covid-19 measures make you feel safe on arrival, most impressive.

Highly recommended for pet lovers wanting to take their dogs with them. Each of the two units is fully fenced.


Everything it offers and more

The cottage was immaculately clean and very well equipped. It is such a quite and peaceful place with the most amazing view. We were fortunate to experience a lovey snow filled mountain. 
Thank you Chrissie for accommodating our extended stay. We had a wonderful time of rest and peace. 

Out recent stay at the Blackbrook Farm was a very nice surprise during our recent motorbike trip around the Drakensberg mountains. This guesthouse is located in a beautiful area with wonderful view of the surrounding farm lands and mountains. We had a very comfortable night. Houses are well equipped and very spacious.

Wonderful winter accommodation in Underberg 

A lovely overnight stay or holiday home! House well equipped... everything we needed was there. Elizabeth is a star!
Spotless. Loved the veranda.... sipping a glass of wine in the warm sunlight overlooking the endless valley in the middle of winter was priceless!

A warm ray of sunshine in the winter cold...

We only stayed one night there before heading towards the Sani pass. It was the nicest place we stayed at during our holiday. The place was beautiful, extremely well kept and only wished we had stayed there longer.

wonderful place, wonderful stay!

When asked in town where you're staying and you at Krissi Scott's and the immediate response is a smile and "Oh good, she's my friend", you know you're onto something good.  When meeting Krissi you can understand the reaction you got in town as she is the warmest, friendliest person you can care to meet.  Nothing is too much trouble for her. This is reflected in the accommodation which is as close to perfect for a Farm Stay as you can hope to get get.

Blackbrook Cottages is just a short drive from Underberg, close enough to be able to enjoy the shops and restaurants in the area but far enough out to feel that you are in the country. The cottages are within a short drive of Bushmens Nek and the facilities at Drak Gardens.

We stayed in Straune cottage which is fully fenced making it perfect for families with small children (or pets). The furniture and beds are beyond comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped.  There is a DStv and TV which I assume work as we have a no TV policy when on holiday.

The views stretch out into the distance as the farm is set on an elevated position. These can be enjoyed as there is a well designed braai area (BBQ) outside with an outdoor umbrella and furniture.

This ranks amongst the top 3 self-catering accommodation that we have stayed at and beats the other 2 hands down when it comes to value for money.
