Beds are clean , showers are hot  , awesome food ,friendly staff 
Great music and a great range of activity’s  all being super fun and inclusive    , surf lessons being the best very experienced coaches aswell as  a large range of boards for rent boards for all skill levels

Bliss

The Hostel has a sensational location, with an incredible sea view!!  The common area is super well equipped, clean and comfortable!!  The bar/restaurant has great options for breakfast (fair price), and a specific dish (delicious) for each dinner, where you can socialize with other guests!  The hostel staff is amazing, with incredible energy, and they promote different activities every day to entertain guests (all of the ones I did were free)!!!!

Excellent Vibe

Overall had an amazing experience at Island Vibes in Jeffreys Bay. We stayed in one of the cabins with sea view, which was great value for the money! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Particularly enjoyed the company of JJ and Jamila, who arranged a wonderful trip to the waterfall and a real African braai! Quality surfing gear and wetsuits for a fair rental price. Surfing instructor Liam was very kind and helpful. Bar, kitchen and other facilities were clean. Showers didn't have hot water, but that was alright with the hot weather.

Amazing experience

Great friendly staff. Clean rooms and kitchen had what we needed.
We especially enjoyed the Waterfall trip with Simphiwe. The trip at Jan se gat included a braai, wetsuits, blow-up boat & Zip lining..

Excellent and friendly place

We enjoyed staying at Island Vibe Jeffreys Bay. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. It was not pur first time we stayed there, and certainly not our last.
We decided on a backpacking trip this year to introduce our 18 year old daughter to the backpacking vibe in SA. She already said she is definately bringing her friends there. Island Vibe JBay was one of the top 3 on our list to visit.
With our previous experiences at Island Vibe JBay we will most definately recomend your establishment and come for a visit again. We would like to thank you and your staff for everything.
The only thing that can be adressed is protection against the wind around the bar area, i.e storm flaps

Excellent vibe and friendly staff

rustic but comfortable and clean. stunning views and situated perfectly. My only issue was breakfast, i cant understand how it takes an hour to make 2 breakfast wraps (scrambled egg bacon and onion) and one bacon egg toast tomato. the bacon wasnt even cooked properly. otherwise we enjoyed it

J Bay

My friend and I were dropped off here as a part of an organized tour for a surfing excursion. We rented surfboards and wetsuits for about 5 USD per person which was an incredible deal and the woman at the front desk was so nice. When we arrived we thought the vibe was cool and the view of the beach was nice. We figured after our surf we would come back and have a drink at the bar and chill at what seemed like a cool place. 
Once we got our surfboards we headed down to the beach. From the property to the area where you are able to surf is close to a 20 minute walk on sand/ dunes. We had a nice surf and then started the hike back up hill to the property. Along the way, we burnt our feet badly on the hot sand so we ran to the gate leading into the property which was supposed to be unlocked for us. It was locked and we were forced to stand there in the burning sand yelling for someone to open it since our phones were locked away inside. we knew there were people nearby but no one came until someone staying in the hostel came to open for us. 
Once we got back we rinsed off and asked the guy working there if he could take our picture. So we could remember this trip together. He couldn’t seem more bothered if he tried. He made a comment that we were fake surfers for taking a picture. We aren’t pros but do love to surf and in fact just came from surfing so the comment was a little rude. At one point, the end of my surfboard touched the floor by accident because it was long and he got so annoyed I couldn’t understand what just happened. We started to take off the wetsuits and before my friend could even take off his he snapped at him and said he needs to make it cleaner. My friend said “I need to take it off first before I wash it” to which he just rolled his eyes. 
After thoroughly washing our wetsuits we returned everything and noticed that the few people sitting at the hostel, who appeared to be the employees friends, just glared at us. We were so uncomfortable we paid and left. What we thought would be a chill place was so uncomfortable, rude staff, inconvenient location and lack of attention. Besides the woman at the front desk, there’s nothing to see here. It’s best to rent from a place more central, and even a tad bit friendlier. I only gave two stars because of the woman at the front desk who was nice to us.

Uncomfortable Surf Rental— not worth it

We stayed in Island Vibe JBay for the 5th time and we loved it as always. The Staff remembered us and welcomed us very warmly like always. The room (double room in the beachhouse) was clean and frequently cleaned by the nice cleaning ladies. Also the common kitchen and the garden souroundings are well protected by them and the Gardeners. 
You meet a lot of diffrent people there and the make Braii on the big fireplace frequntly. You have plenty options to cook or just order a nice wrap or pizza from the island vibe kitchen. The same for breakfast. 
if you want to party, there is the bar always open until the night, or if you want it more calm, step down to the beachhouse. 
wether you are a surfer or just a beach lover, for both you will find the perfect location there. Long clean beach with almost white sand and nice surfbreaks for surfers with amazingly great vibes in the water!!!
If you want real south african local vibes, choose Island Vibe!!

Another time a perfect stay in JBay!!

The location for this hostel is amazing, right on the beach and the layout of everything is excellent with a real surfers vibe to it. Everything is chill and not much matters. The people are friendly.

The dorms were quite poor quality, as there are no plugs to charge your devices and it is just a bunch of bunkbeds on a tiles floor, which is not a major problem. However they party with loud music in the bar till about 1:30am and the dorms are right next to the bar, making it almost impossible to sleep. I thought I was saved by Eskom (can't believe I said that) when the power went out and the music stopped. but they had a generator, and for the first time in my life I was sad about that.

The food that you can buy there are just Pick n pay frozen foods that are cooked for you, so nothing amazing, but they are prices somewhat accordingly.

I wouldn't use this location as a stopping point for a trip to East London, I would however stay here again if i wanted to party.

Fun accomodation, shouldn't advertise beds if they don't let you sleep

Was truly a pleasure staying at the Island Vibe in Jbay. I had to adjust my booking and had no issues in amending my booking at no additional costs. Charmaine was truly amazing in how she managed everything. Truly a welcoming experience.
