It was such a horrible experience for my son and I to stay at this place. We arrived late, there were no lights outside, it was very dark and we were welcomed by what looked like vicious dogs and the owner did not want to take them away and kept on saying that they will not do anything to us. We stayed in the car in fear for about 20 minutes at which point he decided to lock put them away so that we can come in. He was very annoyed that we are scared of his dogs. 

I was shocked to learn that this accommodation is actually a residential house and that you would be put up in one of their bedrooms and using the bathrooms that they also use for their home!! That is absolutely disgusting! There was no TV in the room as stated on the Groupon promotion and we slept with old and burned linen and not even ironed! 

The breakfast was just two fried eggs with one slice of toast and corn flakes!! Definately not value for money. 

I was meant to stay three nights here and I only stayed one night because I could not even wait for the morning to leave..... What a horrible experience. 

In the morning i needed to get something from my car and the dogs were right by the door, I called the owner to ask him to remove his dogs and he didn't answer my calls. I waited and waited and eventually I went to the dining area where he was preparing this breakfast and ask him to move his dogs, he could not hide the irritation in his face and that is when I decided I don't need this horrible service. I felt like a small child visiting a relative who doesn't like people!! 

This place should be closed down as it is not at all suitable to accommodate people!

Horrible experience

I loved staying in this rambling and spacious house! What I received, was more than a bed with a room, but a personalised service. Michel brought me a wonderful glass of wine with the best chili biltong I had ever eaten! I slept well and left the next morning feeling rejuvenated and happy! Thank you, Michel and Gill, and thank you to Michel's 12 year old son, who made me a wonderful breakfast!

Eccentric and Refreshing!

A Colorfull house with a great atmosphere of past times. The master of the house offers a relaxing feel of freedom and hospitality and will cook for you while beatifull music plays through the open windows.
We enjoyed our stay very much!

A lovely place run by a great 'Chef de Mission' Michel

Le Maki on 54 was nothing short of a wonderful experience, it is home away from home. The rooms are quaint, the service impeccable, the owner is hospitable and takes care of his guests. It was a much needed getaway that took our minds off the rat race. The view is amazing, utterly beautiful experience we had.
