On arrival, our room was ready and spotless. Facilities and amenities were great, sparkling pool a welcome reprieve after our long drive. Not within walking distance of the centre of town, but close enough to cycle. Onwers were very friendly and helpful. The Ndebele art is a lovely touch. Rooms near reception are 'rondavel' type with thatched roofs / ceiilngs. Good breakfasts and decent coffee. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely spot near central Knysna

Unfortunately my partner and I only stayed in this lodge for one night as passing through knysna after going to the elephant park (which you must go to if you come to knysna!). 

This place ticked all the boxes and exceeded our expectations. 

The host was friendly and took time to show us round. They have a lovely little pool here and an honesty bar, which was handy. 

Our room was amazing! Lovely and spacious with incredible African decor. There were lots of personal touches aswell such as a little chocolate on the bed, nice toiletries etc. Our wifi worked (despite reading some reviews on here that said the wifi doesn't always work). Our host even gave us some ice and glasses as we'd bought a bottle of wine with us! 

This place deserves all the amazing reviews it gets on trip advisor! 

Lovely place to stay

We have enjoyed the days at Badgers Lodge. The lovely garden, the relaxing atmosphere, Katrin and Joachim as care taking hosts. Sitting on the various terraces having breakfast or a drink on the evening. If you are looking for tranquility – here you are. 
Close to Simola Golf, and a ten minutes taxi ride to Waterfront. 
And: stay a little bit longer, it's nice here. 


A beauty close to Knysna 

During our two week holiday going from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth along the Garden Route, my boyfriend and I stayed at Badger’s Lodge for one night. 

Location: Badger’s Lodge is situated a 10 minutes drive outside Knysna centre. It’s high up on a hill overlooking the lush green scenery of the coast. If you are driving the Garden Route, this is one of the best places to stop as there is much to do and see. 

Rooms: The real highlight was our room, which was an African style building: extremely spacious and beautifully decorated.

Service: Great service from Karin, Joachim and their staff. Karin took a lot of time to tell us about what to do in Knysna. We were on a tight schedule so she explained the pros and cons of different attractions and helped us to make most of our time in Knysna.

What’s around: Something most people do during daytime are the Knysna Heads. Having said that, we went there at sunset and it was absolutely stunning. Make sure you visit all three viewing points as every single one offers a different perspective of the sea. The waterfront gives you some nice dining options. If you have to choose between animal parks we recommend the Knysna Elephant Park and Tenikwa (Big Cats).

Stunning and spacious rooms in unique African style

The owner is quite friendly and the breakfast was OK. The room heating was not that OK for us.bathroom was too cramped. wifi was not available in the room, so we have to come to out side to use the WiFi.
