We had are wedding at Steynshoop in April 2022. 
A fairytale wedding venue with helpful and well-trained staff. The venue is neat, picturesque and makes for breathtaking photos. It is the best place for a lovely family wedding with enough sleeping space for all the guests. The food is top notch. I would definitely recommend the venue, whether for a weekend break or for a function.

Fairytale wedding venue!

Nowhere in South Africa there is a place like Steynshoop Mountain and Valley Lodge.  

True peace and tranquility is the thought that comes to mind.

This place is out of this world. So unique and beautiful and we couldn't have made a better choice for our wedding destination. 

Scenic views, amazing accommodation and outstanding venue! We can truly say that we receive the most professional service from this venue. This was the best decision ever made.

Except for the 5 star place Steynshoop is, the manager and the venue wedding coordinator , Pieter and Hanneli, was an absolute pleasure and dream to work with. 

We received top quality service, so much kindness, help, understanding during Covid, nothing was ever to much work or not possible and they went out of our way to accommodate us in every way!

For that we can truly thank Hanneli and Pieter for the most amazing day, it was out of this world, so beautiful and an absolute fairytale!

TRUE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY

We hosted our fairytale wedding at Steynshoop in February 2020. The venue was ideal to host family and friends for a whole weekend of celebration. The hidden gem at the foot of the Magaliesburg mountain spoiled us with beautiful views, lovely accommodation and friendly staff who guided us through the journey.

We had the most amazing wedding wedding week end at the lodge. Everything was top notch from the food on the Friday, breakfasts & food at wedding was to die for. Staff very accommodating with everything we needed. Hannelie was the best wedding planner, she comes highly recommended & makes sure that your wedding is something to remember. We booked the both lodges for the whole week end & all our guests had a splendid time & just loved the place. can highly recommend Steysnhoop for your wedding & a week end break away!!!

WEDDING

I spent the weekend at the Valley Lodge with my family and my dog. Its a very beautiful place with great service and tranquility defining the ambience. My dog also made friends with the beautiful St. Barnard and ended the weekend with a wonderful hike in the mountains. Beautiful place for a weekend away with your dog!

Amazing Place

Absolutely delicious food - we had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all were excellent. Great service too! Pieter, the owner, was the perfect host and we were excellently taken care of. Incredible views and  a stunning pool! Great value for monet

A delight!

Booked the whole Mountain Lodge for the family celebration.  
Very relaxing, neat and clean.  Food and service was Great, done by the in-house Chef and team of friendly staff.   
Menu is a great mix of South African cuisine and portions are big enough for a healthy appetite.  

All the staff are very friendly and helpful!  

A great walk up the mountain with a view over the valley. Did the walk (approximately 1hour going up and another hour coming down) with kids ranging between 4-14years, but would not recommended it for the person with a bad knee or hip.  (Oldest in the group was a healthy 71 years)

Big pool to enjoy during warmer seasons. Croquet lawn next to the Lodge (did not use it).  
Large boma area to enjoy and a stoep(veranda) for sundowners.  
Ample space inside and outside to relax or read (in-house book collection to utilize)

Would recommend Steyn Hoop Mountain Lodge.  

50year anniversary 

Lovely lodge set against one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. We stayed on a D,B,B basis and the 3-course dinners were delicious giving us a choice between 2 meals for every course. The lodge is old, but clean and very comfortable. Would suggest more staff are hired for the little things, like; cleaning the balconies and outside areas daily due to the vervet monkeys and the mess they leave behind. 

Extended long weekend holiday 

We stayed in the self-catering accommodation and ate breakfast and one dinner at the ldoge. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The self-catering accommodation is not particularly well equipped if you want to cook or braai. I would recommend taking a sharp knife with you, and steak knives if you intend to braai. I also recommend checking which unit you are staying in. We stayed in Arbour Cottage and there is no privacy at all if you want to sit outside or braai. Any of the other units looked better. The decor is a bit tired - the bathroom needs retiling and the bedding has seen better days. The location is wonderful, however, and the views superb.

after having the grand kids for the weekend it was an ideal break, a short
distance out of Jhb.

we were rewarded with a hearty welcome, good food and - yes - a spectacular
view of the Magaliesburg... exquisite getaway
