A beautiful experience, from the booking in to the pleasant staff on arrival and departure, the cottage was very well equipped and spotless with a magnificent view.
I look forward to a return visit in the near future

ALOE RIDGE

Lovely place to relax and tune in with nature. Spacious living area and bedrooms! Loved the deck outside with the big braai and swimming pool. The place was a bit dusty. 👎

Bring your own drinking water, the water is brown. Lots of bugs so bring bug repellent. 

Aloe Ridge Swellendam

We really enjoyed our 3 nights in Kilamanjaro. The to get there was a bit hairy but really thrilled once we were there. Well equipped and comfortable. We did mention the loose bricks in the braai to one of the chaps. Could be quite dangerous. Also good idea to look at the 3 wasps nests. All in all a wonderful relaxing time with friends. 

Relaxing piece of heaven

A stay at Aloe Ridge is absolutely worth it! The road there is not the best, but if you take it slow, it can be done. Once there, you can relax in this beautiful self catering villa with your own pool.

Relaxed family trip

We have stayed at Aloe Ridge 3 times and will definitely return. We stayed in Kilimanjaro, which is the best chalet as it has the best view of the river and seems to be in better condition. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The location, and private pool made for a memorable stay. The amenities and some of the furniture have seen better days. The one concern I had was the level of cleanliness: The counters, table-top and cupboard doors were not clean and although not a deal-breaker, it made me doubt the level of cleanliness of other spaces and thus spent time cleaning which was not ideal. Having said that, my husband thought I was over-reacting! Despite my concerns, I had an amazing time and would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Wonderful stay

It was a pleasant stay and the people are very friendly. Thank you for the the good service. Rooms where very clean and neat. Lots of place in closets and the facilities are great. outside showers and a great pool with a braai.

Aloe Ridge review of honeymoon

The website showed that this was a lovely place to stay, in the bush, on the river, a small pool, braai. All perfect - on paper! On arrival no one around, the reception area very shoddy and the roof leaking like a sieve as it was raining, we should have realised that maybe this was an indication of what the accommodation might be - well on initial on the surface the appearance of the cottage looked good but on closer inspection found a ton of issues. very dusty and cobwebs in all the corners, shelves and wall hangings. Then no hot water!!! Couches old and sad, stuffing so flat or lumpy (depending which couch you sat on), material torn, dining room table not level, very noticable slanting angle. Luckily we were not planning to braai the first night as the chimney was leaking and a pool of water formed in the braai and on the floor in front of the braai. It appears that senior management either do not care or do not do regular checks on the condition. And no tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt, pepper, etc.

over priced for what the conditions were

We had such a fabulous stay at Aloe Ridge that we will definitely be returning in the future with other family and friends. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations. It is spacious and extremely comfortable, with beautiful views and we loved being surrounded by the sounds of nature. We did an 8km walk on the property and had some fun in the hired inflatable canoe. A great two day break escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Highly recommend Aloe Ridge

Just 2 hours from Cape Town and you're in the quiet solitude of Aloe Ridge, a peaceful haven and quiet retreat from city life. We recommend Alo Ridge to all peace seekers, and it's just on our doorstep.

Solitude

We had a fabulous time, had a pair of Genets on our deck in the late evening, got some river rafting and other activities in to balance the volumes of red meat braaied and red wine consumed - pure heaven.
