Mossel Bay

Thank you very much for a wonderful weekend spent at your beautiful guesthouse! The staff were very friendly and always ready and willing to help. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and  comfortable, with ample cupboard space, very comfortable beds and enough extra, warm blankets for the cold nights. Big, beautiful bathrooms. Even small details have been taken care of in this accomodation. The view from the rooms and the communal lounge is stunning and we even saw seals playing in the waves in front of the house early evening and early morning. And for the braai enthusiasts there's a lovely braai area, where we had a great braai and 'kuier'. Thank you again, we hope to see you again soon.

Great weekend at b@home in Mosselbaai

We arrived at the site at night, a pity, because we could only enjoy the sound of the sea and the wind. The place is residential, the apartment we occupied was very suitable for 3 adults. Two little ones still, the bathroom in the bedroom (not convenient for the person sleeping in the living room to have to cross the room) and the kitchen corner that has no windows. So after as often in South Africa, the houses are barricaded from all sides, which can give a feeling of being imprisoned but it is quickly forgotten when you see the fruit trees in the garden and especially the gigantic goya scale whose weather and fruits will satisfy you. We didn't have lunch, so we have to go to the house because the weather is very bad, and unfortunately, we have to go to the house to see it.

A clean and tidy guest house and to be fair the staff were friendly.   Wi-fi intermittent but useable.  Rooms small but an amazing sea view from ours. But sadly those are the only good points, not sure how this is a 4* when compared to the others we have stayed in already in s a .   There was a lounge / kitchen area that we could have used if it wasn’t taken over by the other guests- who were all workmen.  They used it has their home: fair enough but it didn’t feel to me a tourist guest house, more like a boarding house.   We sat out on our terrace in the evening rather than use the lounge area.   When I did walk into the lounge, they all stopped talking and just looked at me, I felt so uncomfortable. Glad we only had one night there.  We would have found alternative accommodation if we had been in mossel  bay for any longer.   I think the owners need to review do they want tourists or borders?

Sadly, despite the amazing views no we would not stay here again.

Pure bliss! Breathaking view, warm hospitality, lovely rooms and a tasty breakfast. Mossel Bay is halfway between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, B@home is the perfect stopover. We strongly recommend B@home.

We stayed here for two nights.
The staff is incredibly friendly, the breakfast is ok (for 1400 ZAR one could get something a bit better but really can’t complain), the only thing that set us off about this place is the location.
Mossel Bay is well... besides shark cage diving and sandboarding it’s not really worthwhile for two entire days.
Coming from Hermanus we were a bit disappointed, but oh well.
Guest house is ok, so if visiting Mossel Bay, go here!

Okay guesthouse

House with view of the whole bay: beautiful! nice common areas and 3 bedrooms. When we arrived we were very kindly welcomed by Brenda who asked if we could change rooms to enjoy a sea view. Adjudged! Room 1. Daytime parking in front of the house. Garage closed for the night. Very secure house. Wifi room excellent. Dinner at Café Gannet in Mossel Bay 3km away. Recommended dose reservation. Adjacent to the Marriott Hotel.

This B & B was ok, and had a great view down to the ocean, but was a bit tired and not in the nicest of areas.
Also room was quite small. It was adequate, and the staff were very friendly, but I would look elsewhere next time.

Just OK, but definitely not 4 star

In total, we stayed 6 nights in be@home, first a night in a B&B room, then the holiday apartment became free. Some rooms have sea views and the house also offers a nice view of the bay from the living room (comfort room) and the holiday apartment; there is a solid grill in the garden that we were allowed to use and one can use the garden before the holiday home (terrace) - especially our children were outdoors on the small lawn overlooking the sea. The rooms were clean, the service and the floor were super generous (from continental to cooked breakfast) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's a great orchard and a great view of the bay.

Stunning view

A large apartment to share with a shared kitchen but separate room. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is very good. A really intense security system that is not reassuring. Car parking on the floor because at night it is very risky to ask for keys. In short, the place is so protective that you don't feel safe. Simple home.
