I stayed a total of 3 nights at Harmony Guesthouse, 1 night before my overnight Kruger camping safari, then 2 more nights after the safari.  The location of the guesthouse is in a quiet neighborhood away from the busy center.  It is gated so the place is more secure.  The property has a nice swimming pool, though I didn’t get to use it since it was still winter time, plus I was busy with tours all day.  As for the room, it is very spacious, bright, and clean, & the bed was comfortable.  The bathroom was modern & clean, and the hot water shower was fantastic.  They serve English breakfast for an additional fee, but it is worth it as the portions were big & it was very good.  The guesthouse does have a generator, which helped a lot, since the power went out, due to South Africa’s load-shedding schedules, a few times during my stay.

Only downside for me was that since I didn’t have a car, I couldn’t walk around the area or to the city center to buy what I needed since I was advised that it’s not safe.  My flight into Nelspruit arrived late in the afternoon so I arrived late to the guesthouse.  I was then hoping to walk around to get dinner; luckily, I had some snacks with me that sufficed.  But for those with a car, there is parking at the guesthouse for convenience.

Clean & comfortable rooms, with excellent breakfast

I booked a holiday for my parents, and we did all the checks and read up on the reviews. WHAT THE OWNER DID NOT TELL US WHEN WE BOOKED, was that they are busy with renovations and have contract workers all over the place. Firstly, the receptionist, Adelaide was not at all friendly. They booked them in the wrong room and then this was rectified as they wanted a bath. They put them in an area which was isolated. There is no security on the doors or windows. At 2am, they were awoken by a man who said 'KEEP QUIET'!!!! My Dad who is 70, immediately reacted and grabbed hold of him and hit him. The other moron can and started stabbing my father in the arm trying to get him to let go!! My Mom woke up and she started fighting as well. My Father him the one guy on the head with the lamp and my Mom hit the other with a fist. My Father sustained multiple stab wounds and my Moms hand is completely swollen. The Owner Hannes, did not seem phased by this. He took my Dad to the hospital and my Dad had to pay for the medical costs. And let this just sink in so you can understand what type of person this is...... THEY STILL HAD THE AUDACITY CHARGED ME FOR THE 1ST NIGHT. For your own safety, do not book at this accommodation

SHOCKING EXPERIENCE!!

This "gentleman" tried to charge us more when we arrived. He had zero Covid protocols and refused to wear a mask even after I asked him to. When I asked him when last the room was sanitized, his reply was "Do you want to stay here?"
Needless, to say, we did not. He then would not let us leave the property, even though we had paid for the night. I had to call the police before he opened the gate.

beautiful guesthouse at affordable prices. i can really recommend this beautiful guest house to anybody visiting Nelspruit. very central for shopping and close to the Kruger National Park and Swaziland.

I ddnt like the fact that bathrooms are outside the bedroom and shared. Otherwise the place is clean, nice pool, a bar fridge available if you have drinks. But it will also be nice if they paid more dstv channels, maybe the compact deal.

Not so bad experience 

rooms whilst basic has all that was required. bathrooms that cannot be isolated from the main room would be a concern if I was not on my own. Free Wi-fi was adequate for all needs. owner / manager was available at all times should there be a need (we had no problems that required his assistance). did not have any meals due to other arrangement's.

Quiet place to stay

We stayed in this facility for one night; free indoor parking, wifi in all rooms, pleasant location just outside the center, available and courteous staff.

Nice place with parking.

Centrally located. Secure parking. Ftiendly host. Very clean and neat. Attention to detail. Homelike feeling. However most important value for money. Price meets product, infact you get more. Free wi fi too. Great place. Use it.

Value for money

We had an en-suite room that was clean. Compact room but all you need if you arent going to spend all your time in the room. Hosts are friendly. Pool is clean. Parking bit cramped bit thats understandable. Fresh sheets and blankets daily. Coffee replenished. Small tv but some dstv channels. No cartoons so probably not too good for kids. Pool will entertain them.
