My daughter and I spent two nights at Bitou River Lodge.  While she attended a wedding, I enjoyed the comfort, peace and tranquility of the lodge on the banks of the Bitou River.  10-15 minutes outside Plettenberg Bay it is well located to enjoy all the activities that Plett and the surrounding area offers, but it is a gentle, restorative place to be if relaxation is what you are looking for. I enjoyed bird watching and reading in a hammock near the pool.  Our hosts, Kerry and Clint, were welcoming, caring hosts and the lodge team were attentive.   I will definitely return to this special place.

Wonderful location and river views with very accommodating owners and wonderful service. The rooms are well appointed and the beds fantastically comfortable. Breakfast was also seriously good. We are just very sorry we were unable to stay longer. Highly recommend Bitou River Lodge as it was more comfortable and better in virtually every way than other far more expensive locations we stayed at.

Don’t think twice just book here! You will not regret it.

A wonderful experience; beautiful house, amazing garden, kind and helpful host and staff.
Nice location, away from the busy place, but still well connected.
We got an excellent breakfast and a lot of help with our braai.
Our host gave good tips what to visit next and which routes to take to get to our next location.
 

Heaven  on earth

A little bit of heaven on earth, if peaceful - tranquil - total relaxation is what you looking for Bitou should be on the top of your list. My son and I loved every minute we spent with Clint, Kerry, Brayley and Bryce. Beautiful family and super proud to be part of it.  Can’t wait to see you later this year.

Exquisite!!

A fantastic haven to spend a few days. The property is within easy striking distance of Plettenberg bay and all the major beaches and attractions. Taxi was easily arranged by the proproter, and was just a few £ to get into town. The rooms are comfortable, with good facilities. Veranda onto the river and the sounds of the birds and frogs is mesmeric. The pool, whilst not enormous, is set delightfully amongst flowers and trees with plenty of shade and ample beds. We used the canoes for a paddle down the river which was great fun. The team at Bitou could not be more hospitable, nothing was too much trouble - a real family feel. - don't hesitate .. book it.

A haven.....

Owners Clint & Kerry have turned this well-located river front guest house into an idyllic getaway. Rooms all have river front views, service is excellent, staff are very friendly & breakfasts are a tasty start to the day. It’s a stone-throw from Plett beaches yet provides a restful home away from home experience.

An idyllic home away from home guest house

We stayed at Bitou River Lodge for 5 nights over the Xmas period and in future this lodge will be on our favourite list for the Garden route. The hosts Kerry and Clint are great: welcoming, generous, knowledgable and the staff follow suit. Facilities are very good and very well managed. Every detail is looked after and we did not have to ask for anything we needed, it was all there. Comfortable and pretty. 

Outstanding experience of the Bitou River and Plett

What a lovely place. Well worth a visit. In the process of being revamped but it was a most enjoyable stay.
Breakfast could be a little  more substantial but the food was excellent.
The setting is beautiful and Emmanual was a wonderful host.

Unfortunately the owners did not expect us until the day after our arrival even though we had email confirmation of our dates. We were greeted by the rather surprised mother of the owner. Our rooms were fine but there was a problem with the water pump which meant we were washing in brown water until it was repaired on our second day.
Despite this we loved the place and Kerry, Clint and the children could not have been more helpful.
The rooms are comfortable but perhaps a little dated. Kerry told us of their big plans to upgrade the rooms over the next few months with little  if any, disturbsnce to guests. 
I could spend hours in the canoes on the little Bitou river there listening to the birds. Heavenly.

Peaceful location

Great Guesthouse by the Bitou River. Kerry and Clint and their 2 kids made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Breakfast was delicious. We got to use canoes to paddle up the Bitou River. They put all their passion into this accomodation gem. Thank you for a great time.
