I’ve now stayed at Beachways in PE 3x! Andrew and Claudi are an amazing couple who have a true passion for customer comfort and satisfaction!! I’ve stayed in 3 of there rooms. They are all very similar. What stands this B&B apart from most I’ve stayed at is the personal touch and the fact that each room has your own DSTV decoder. Truly a home away from home feeling!!

I stayed with them from 18th to 30th June 2019. On the 19th I ordered an Uber to go to gym. After ordering the Uber and waiting over 10min for the Uber that was supposedly 1min away, Andrew saw me waiting. When I told him that I had been waiting 10min for an Uber, without hesitation he gave me the keys to his car and said I was welcome to use it. Never have I seen such service the exceeds this and goes way beyond any expectations!!

Well done Andrew and Claudi!! I would recommend this incredible B&B to any locals or international guests visiting Port Elizabeth!!

Home away from home

Was not happy with the service we were send to a room across the road and we made a booking long before at beachway. Room had carpet that looked dirty and the walls were a bit stained aswell. Not to mention the bedding that looked so old and stained I felt very uncomfortable to sleep in that bed. I was very dissapointed because non of the rooms on booking.com matches the room we slept in.

Review

We booked this b&b thinking we would get a room with beach view, but we were put in a room far from the beach instead (in fact, it was a whole different neighbourhood) We were not informed why prior to our visit and also not during. When arriving, we had to wait for the housekeepers to finish the room. We did not understand this since all the other rooms at the venue were not vacant. We stayed in the room for a bit for one hour and we realized there was this horrible smell coming from behind the fridge. After complaining we did get one of the other rooms (I don't understand why they didn't do this from the beginning, but okay). The room itself was okay, but not as advertised. So do inform before booking!

Not at the beach..

There were renovations being done on the property so we were accommodated across the road in an apartment. We shared accommodation with two rooms and a lounge and kitchen which gave us plenty of space. Nice braai area and good TV reception. Good facilities in the rooms. Plenty of coffee and tea provided. Owners friendly and helpful. Easy to get to where we needed to be for work, and shops very nearby that we could walk to. Relaxing place.
On the down side, and why this was scored average and not very good - there was only one towel per guest, no hand towel - and the towels were thin and didn't smell fresh. It was raining so maybe drying the towels was a problem but they needed changing more regularly then. We also had to rewash the dishes after the cleaner had done them - the mugs still had coffee rings, and the dishes were greasy. Uncomfortable beds, and we had booked a double and got twin beds instead.
