I booked Terrylin in Nov 2019. Joy was responsive and her communication by email was excellent. No issues.

My wife and I stayed Terrylin on New Years Eve 2019. For the past ten years we been traveling in/out of Joburg, stayed at another venue which closed. We arrived at Terrylin at 11:45pm after late flight from Amsterdam.

Joy greeted us, was up, our room ready and clean exactly as promised. Property was safe and catering kitchen facilities were excellent.

The grounds were very nice and shower/toilets were fine.

We were pleased with our stay and have booked two more nights in the next couple months.

Great Stay at Terrylin

Ideal if you want accommodation in a safe area close to the airport and within walking distance of Rhodesfield Station. Very nice owner Joy. Choice of comfortable, clean rooms. Lovely garden with very nice swimming pool. Tea and coffee available all day and a very pleasant kitchen and lounge. More like an exclusive guest house than a typical backpackers' hostel. The Wi-Fi is great!

Comfortable, clean and friendly

This is a safe and peaceful place set in a green bushy garden. The owner Joy is incredibly helpful with organising tours of Johannesburg and ordering dinner deliveries. Would highly recommend. Very good airport access.

Brilliant and Relaxed

The place is exceptionally clean. The owner is a warm, sweet and very organized lady who will make yourself comfortable in a place where you will feel at home. Very close to OR Tambo International Airport. Only 150 Rand for the taxi.

Amazing - Very best value for money

This is a very quiet, very friendly place to stay. Close to the airport with very fast wifi. It is a clean comfortable place to enjoy your time in Johannesburg. Very close to many restraunts and shops for all your needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Johannesburg.

Great friendly place to stay

I have stayed here twice now and both times have been incredibly positive. Joy is very friendly and helpful and the rooms made me feel right at home. It's also very convenient how close the guesthouse is to the airport. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and even had heater blankets for the cold nights. The Wi-Fi was very helpful especially since I didn't have a SIM card here. I highly recommend Terrylin Backpackers if you're looking for something easy, quite and comfortable. Thanks Joy!

Very Friendly, Cozy, and Welcoming

It was easy to tell that joy really knows what she's doing in running this cozy place right by the airport. She's welcoming, warm and friendly while still making sure you have as much space and you want or need. The place felt very safe and is behind a sturdy gate (on the outside of which there is a sign for the hostel - don't repeat my mistake of going to the residential houses next door telling them that you intend on sleeping there) and also hosts a nice garden and a pool. I'm happy to recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay close to the O.R. Tambo airport at a very affordable fare.

Such a friendly place!

This small hostel is super convenient, near the TOMBO airport - around 10 minutes. The rooms are good with spacious bathroom. They offer biscuits, coffee , tea, milk and cereals for breakast - no eggs or anything cooked but for the price is good benefit.
