We stayed here twice for a couple of nights during our stay in South Africa and on both occasions the rooms that we had were clean and tidy and had comfortable beds. The breakfast provided was served by the very helpful staff was quite average but plentiful. Overall comfortable accommodation but not of a very high standard.

Short stay

We were very disappointed - stayed in the selfcatering apartment "Paternoster". The whole apartment looked as though they were still working on the building - unfinished. The shower, which was in the bath, leaked so much that we had to use the towels to dry the floor - the whole floor was covered in water. Nothing to put your clothes on or any hooks to hang them on - I took a high chair from the kitchennook to make do. There were all over holes in the tiles where previous - or future - fittings were. The bedroom had a lovely big North facing window with a good view but a Roman blind in front of it that could not open. This window was also the only with windows that were save to open at night, but with this huge Roman blind in front, it was difficult to get to it, so we had to open the balcony door for fresh air at night - fortunately there was a security door as well - we do not sleep with aircons on.
When we arrived at the GH, there was only a kitchen help with a dirty overall and plastic kitchen head cover to receive us and do the necessary booking in task. Even at breakfast the next morning we had  not yet seen the manager/owner at all, and I had to ask the breakfast staff that I would like a word with her. The driveway entering the property is really a challenge,but fortunately we have a 4x4! Very steep.
On the positive side: The breakfast and service there was very tasty and well presented.This guesthouse is not worth the money paid and not 4 star quality.

Stayed at White Aloe guesthouse

basic and functional
I prefer their other guesthouse on Noritstreet, White Aloe. Fantastic. Also in winter better place due to sun sight (north facing). Staff good be trained in hospitality. For short stay perfect location. Quick on highway.

good place for business people

We stayed there for 3 nights. Worked great as a starting point of our South Africa trip.
Nicely located, safe area. 
Very helpful manager and staff!

The bathroom needs to be renewed.
Wifi only works around the reception area.

Simply furnished self catering accommodation

I was disappointed by Alvesta, it was comfortable but not 4 star. The rooms were not as nice as the pictures on their website. The bathroom needed a revamp as the shower door didn't close properly, the floor had black marks and at night I had to switch off the water to the toilet otherwise it ran all night. The free WIFI could only accessed if you sat in the diningroom.  I did not think it was worth the money I paid.
