Photos are SO deceiving!! Place is horrible, not maintained at all! 
Dirty, things are broken, hardly get through to owner when calling. 
Some plugs are not working, taps are broken in the bathroom the list goes on. 
They do not give refunds even though it’s false advertising. 
Would not recommend at all!!

Terrible!!

This establishment has no one managing their offices, and staff. If something goes wrong the customer gets blamed, threatened and sworn at. Fred the owner, is the most rude, obnoxioius and selfcentred individual I have met. He believes that he has the right to treat his customers as though they are beggars he is doing a favour for.

Horrific!

Unbelievable! I made payment through an agency at the end of Feb. My agent paid on my behalf and no response was received. My agent enquires today and Fred emails that the booking expired and they are now fully booked over my dates.They basically held my money for 2 weeks even though the booking was not confirmed.  I am sending my bank details for a refund and that had better be done. Be careful of this place!  How can you not refund me or advise me asap if my booking is not secured but you take my money and only state you will refund  me when my agent enquires why she hasnt received a response. I am waiting for your response Protea Ridge.  When a client pays, is this what happens?  I have travelled for years locally and internationally and never experienced this!

Bad Service! Unconfirmed Booking Yet Retained My Payment

The place is very dirty, no service from reception, breakfast is bad, rooms are not clean, no welcome by staff members, no one talking to the guests except the security guard. I will not advise anyone to go sleep there , my worst experience ever.. very terrible.

My stay at Protea Ridge Guest cottages


Good Day, our stay with Protea Ridge was not that bad a few things to look into, the rooms were not supplied with extra blanket (it's winter), the fan in the main bedroom is so dirty I was afraid something is going to fall on me, the glasses was dirty I had to wash it with the dirty sponge. I'm not always a difficult lady, but the units need a proper clean and attention.

Arrived at 10pm - only person on site was Joseph (nice guy) the security guard. The chalet was spacious but very old and in need of a re-vamp. Woken at 7:10am by someone delivering a breakfast which was inedible: cold everything with uncooked bacon. Left the "breakfast" at reception because the lady manager hadn't yet arrived at work. This is NOT a hotel. It's a pity Trip Advisor doesn't have a 'negative score' option!

Avoid - it's not Hotel or a B&B!

Value for money. The 3 bedroom apartments were spacious , the furniture of top level and staff that is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent !!! Access in and out of property. Swimming pool is unbelievable crisp. Really enjoyed our stay. 

Peaceful and enjoyable

Staff were very helpful with information and items to use during our stay. The rooms and property were clean, quiet and beautiful. Breakfast was great though sometimes getting luke warm. Overall, we loved our stay.
