The lodge, which dates back some years but is still beautifully built in the old English style.The rooms are very spacious and have a large terrace.The outdoor area leads directly to a large garden with a river.

Well located lodge

This was our first night on the Panorama Route of our South African vacation.  Our room was huge, really a bungalow.  We had views of Lone Creek from our bedroom and living room.  The bathroom was huge and we look advantage of the sunken tub for a relaxing soak.  It was a great introduction for the rest of our tours in southern Africa.

What a great location.

The Lodge is situated on the banks of a river and the gardens flow beautifully down to this river. There are individual suites situated along the river bank with beautiful views and these suites are well appointed and comfortable. The Lodge itself is a beautiful well looked after venue and there is the most delightful chapel overlooking the river too. One has to make prior arrangements for dinner in the restaurant and the Wi-Fi unfortunately does not extend down to the suites, but seems limited to the Lodge. The Lodge is very easily accessible from the main thoroughfare through Sabie.

Comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings

We stayed in one of the Timber Cottages. The staff were very friendly, the place very neat and clean and it was also cleaned everyday.  There were security so you feel very safe. From our side they should maybe look at upgrading their tv's (this was a bit small and still old fashioned) as well as the couches in the living room (it is uncomfortable), but besides that we had a lovely time and will recommend to others. 

Lovely Stay

This is a truly dreamful destination and we were happy with our suite as well as the overall service.

Our only disappointment was the fact that they advertised a Restaurant yet no dinner was served forcing us to enter the town for dinner.

We also had a very big problem with ants in our room, but when reported they did bring us a can of Doom so we could spray and sort out the ants.

Although after that there was still big problem with ants. Outside on the lawn next to the river one could see the many ants nests.

Would suggest they get pest control services to come sort out the ant problem.

Lone Creek River Lodge Sabie Stay - Just Disappointed in False Advertising

We stayed in the timber cottages - Units were superb! Very clean, very well equipped and well serviced (We got fresh towels daily). Perfect location. The beds were comfortable and the units were very spacious.
We will definitely be back.

Awesome Stay!

Beautiful well-equipped cottage - we took the second floor. Nice terrace for a braai, wooden furnace if needed, closed room plus 2 beds in the mezzanine. The staff were charming and caring. The pool is splendid and the grounds are beautiful. We loved it, it was in our style! Everyone has their tastes!;--) The road is rather steep, but given the location of our cottage at the bottom of the grounds, this was no problem for us.

This hotel's architecture is reminiscent of colonial times and has very nice rooms to offer. Here again we were very friendly and provided with great food. After a strenuous day in the coach, the perfect place to relax and process the impressions gained.

Very romantic and quiet

We arrived at 10.30pm and found the gate closed. We tried to ring the car's cytophone and horn for 10 minutes but no one answered. When they finally arrived, they justified themselves by telling us that they thought we wouldn't arrive (but in the meantime the payment had been taken!). The free wifi is only available at the reception, not in the lodge. The location for the departure tour of the Blyde river canyon, mac mac pools etc... is perfect! Just 5 minutes away! On the other hand it is a few kilometres from a small village with bank, shops etc.. so for whatever reason there is! We have a very large and convenient accommodation! The very quiet location and the car can be parked on the side of the Assetta house in a very beautiful wooded house. We also had a nice night's sleep but we could not use a single flat, so we just recommended a single floor, and we did not sleep!

Perfect accommodation... if they don't leave you locked out!

A very nice accommodation with large, stylishly decorated rooms - especially the bathroom was impressively luxurious - and a beautiful garden. We had a view from our room into the garden/park, which was very nice. The accommodation is quiet and a little outdoors. We felt very comfortable here.
