Everything was incredible. Chris and Merle, who run the place, are just the most wonderful people you will meet. They are so kind and they took such good care of us. There is secure parking at the back. The room was spacious and the breakfast the next morning was amazing! Chris' wildlife photography is displayed all over the house. The location is very quiet and it is easy to get to many of the waterfalls in the area. Graskop and Pilgrim's Rest are also not very far away. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Stay in Sabie

Not to be missed !!!! Chris and Merle are fantastic hosts, very hospitable, knowledgeable and helpful.
The guesthouse is unique and authentic, a must stay for anyone wanting to explore the Kruger Park and view sites in the area.Sabie is a lovely town to explore and in close proximity to the famous landmarks.The rooms are luxurious and comfortable and the guesthouse has a great atmosphere.Highly recommended.

We had one night in Sabie on our way back from safari in the Kruger. The Wayfarer is great. Merle was amazing. Welcoming and kind. She made a fantastic breakfast for our departure. We stayed in the family room with the outside porch and great view of the river valley. The beds were very good. The bathroom incredibly well appointed. It was just the right choice for a good night's rest and restorative breakfast.

Very Comfortable and Friendly

We started our SA tour in Sabie and had Chris & Merl, two incredibly friendly & loving hosts. Chris was able to provide us with plenty of tips from the area. He really knows a lot about Kruger National Park, among others. This is very easily accessible in 45 minutes. Breakfast was more than enough and very extensive. We can only recommend this accommodation to anyone. Very personal & loving elderly people.

Very personal and friendly

The owner exhibits his animal pictures in the house and they're very beautiful, it prepares well for what you'll see next in the Kruger. He also gives good advice on where to see these animals. And he recommended the wild fig tree restaurant which was very good. And his two dogs are adorable.

A beautiful B&B - run by a very good photographer - that exhibits fascinating naturalist shots. Courtesy, large rooms furnished with every comfort. Great breakfast, panoramic location and comfortable interior parking.

Being a guest in a photographic exhibition

This was out first time in South Africa and we were recommended to stay here; we are so glad we did. Chris & Merle are a fantastic couple. They could not have been nicer. They made us feel so welcome to their beautiful home. Our huge on suite room was fit for a king.  Breakfast was fantastic and they told us to help ourselves to any drinks we wanted from their lovely bar. They are both a fountain of knowledge and are amazing tour guides. We were taken to beautiful waterfalls near the house & also to supper in the town which had the tastiest steaks in the country. The next couple of days they were our tour guides around Kruger national park. These two can spot animals behind every bush and know every animal and bird on the reserve. We will definitely be back in the future and will not stay any place else apart from here. You have helped us tick a dream from our bucket list and for this we love you guys. Out of 10 we would both score you 11. Massive thanks.

THIS IS A MUST STAY HERE PLACE

Thanks to Chris and Merle I've chosen this lovely place several times now and will make it home again on my next visit to the panoramic route at Mpumalanga. You can sense the english style in every detail in that Guesthouse and enjoy the marvelous breakfast in the morning! Freshly prepared and cooked to your liking. Anything you want to find out in the surrounding? Just relay on the experience of them. Thanks again for everything!

Home Sweet Home! Not a Hotel but a homelike Guest House!

Run by Chris and Merle, this home away from home might even feel more home than your real home! The lovely house, with the well maintained garden where flowers bloom (and with a view on the rolling hills behind) is decorated with fantastic wildlife photographs taken by Chris himself. The lounge area has comfortable couches, plenty of games and an impressive library with interesting books about wildlife, history, photography and many more. The breakfast is varied between the full English breakfast or the continental one with plenty of cheese to choose from, as well as yoghurts, fresh fruits, cereals, jams etc. The rooms are spacious and homey too with well equipped bathrooms to freshen up after your day in Kruger, the Blyde River Canyon, the old mining village of Pilgrimsrest or whatever the activity. The beautiful area of Sabie and the hospitality of Chris and Merle really tempted us to stay way more than our 5 days that were planned for as all the tips from Chris, about what to do in the area turned out to be truly awesome! Thank you Chris and Merle for this wonderful stay, you are doing a tremendous job! We really hope to be back soon! 

Definitely THE place to stay in wonderful Sabie!

You'll be greeted with open arms by Chris and Morag, whose beautiful home has been transformed into an exhibition of Chris's most beautiful animal photographs, a king's lunch, and what a lovely memento shared.
