The lodge appears to be a youth and brothel place. The pictures are deceiving, we had to ask for a refund. Many of the people we found the are young and seems to use the place mainly for casual sex. The rooms are smelly

Looks are deceiving

So honestly, when we arrived in the dark, we almost wanted to turn around! It was cold (in winter) and dark! But when we looked closer we found out that Alfred is a very, very nice person!! He strives for the well-being of his guests!! And in the sunshine the house looks much more friendly! Thank you Alfred!!

Holidays

We spent 3 nights at the Valley View Lodge in Sabie to see the surroundings. Beautiful scenery in the surroundings. We could drive from Sabie anywhere good sightseeing. We had a nice time the 3 nights. Alfred is very hospitable and kind. I have access to rooms and breakfast room as a wheelchair user. Alfred's own delicious fruit salad and half-cooked egg was super good. Alfred gave us a lot of tips on how to protect yourself there (out on the street). Alfred always answers a lot of questions about SA and how the people are there We come back to Alfred!! and thank you for the kindly hospitality!!

Friendly and kindly host, good breakfast with fruit cocktail and semi-boiled egg, kindly hospitality.

We (2 adults with a 15-year-old son) lived in a suite with a separate entrance and our own garden. The terrace of the lodge offers an indescribably beautiful view of the nature of Sabies. The extremely friendly host Alfred gives very useful tips for exploring the sights around Sabies. He served us an excellent breakfast, including daily fresh fruit and good coffee from the Sabies region. The accommodation is centrally located.

I've been doing it again and again

Alfred as a host is simple, helpful and always ready to provide information of any kind. He understands how to respond to the individual wishes of his guests. The room was more than you would expect from a normal accommodation. Generous, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The private entrance gives you the feeling of living in your own house. Breakfast can be served in the five-star area. Every morning we enjoyed different fruits that were lovingly presented by guests. For every happy guest who finds space in this guesthouse, I recommend the perfect softboiled egg minutes. Everything you need to reach, bank, restaurants, shops, everything in five feet. We must also see an absolute Sauber for Switzerland, which is definitely a top destination for us!

A Dreamy Stay

We booked at Valley View Guest house for 3 nights but had to short live our stay due to a number of reasons. When my husband googled the place before we made a reservation, it looked stunning with lush gardens but to our surprise when we arrived the whole place looked like a haunted house. The garden was unkept. No TV in the room. The dining room area was full of dust. Seeing this filth my husband and I decided  we were not going to have breakfast there. We discussed with the caretaker/owner (who is a one man show with no helpers) but he insisted that we still pay for the 3 days.  To avoid commotion we paid the entire breakfast amount. The place is not what you see on the pictures. The water falls depicted there are not even close by. I must give credit though for the bed. their bed was very comfortable although the bedding was not as clean. There is no ventilation in the room since one cannot open the windows for fear of the monkeys. The fan installed there does not do a good job either. After my husband made a reservation, the caretaker/owner kept calling him to push him into making a deposit asap insisting that there were other people also on the waiting list. The push should have been a trigger to us that there was something fishy.

Valley View - Sabie

An old house overlooking the valley. Very stylish. Our room was very spacious with an ensuite full bathroom. Very clean and well looked after. Beautiful view from the stoep. Nice and quite. Continental breakfast included. No TV in room which is a blessing. Nice lounge with bar and TV.  Well done Herr Arthur und danke schőnne. Will come again.

Mist in the valley

The lodge is located in Sabie in close proximity to some restaurants. The host is extremely friendly and the breakfast was very good. The pool is beautiful, unfortunately without seating or accommodation. The setting and atmosphere is a bit dark, but very African. The price/performance ratio is right. Unfortunately, wood trucks pass by at night on the street and are a bit disturbing.

Nice lodge with great breakfast

We are 3 couples from Germany and had a very excellent stay at the lodge. Clean rooms, a great breakfast with fresh fruits and the best coffee in South Africa. Alfred is a best host with good tips for restaurants and sight seeing. it was a perfect beginning to our visit to South africa and we will come back to valley view lodge in Sabie for traveling the panorama route.

Best stay on your trip von Jo`burg to Kruger National park

The first thing that I noticed was the run down entrance to the property, with a shabby gate.  Secondly the all pervading smell of cigarette smoke everywhere.  Dark and shabby and unwelcoming.  Tired.  One bench to sit on round the pool, the cleanliness of which was dubious.  Cracked toilet basin in the bathroom.

The view is average by South African standards.  A great disappointment and probably the worst place we have stayed in South Africa ever. Did not appreciate our host without a shirt. We also left without breakfast.
