We had a  excellent 4 days stay ,nature at it best very nice lodge ,hospitality at is best
seeing animals peaceful greasing what more do you want ,this was a good family
outing very relaxed
Surprise an our arrival  we found in the kitchen fridge milk bread eggs beacon and other stuff in the kitchen ,we never had this before all by all full marks for Pomeroy.

perfect stay for 4 days

We had a wonderful stay in these beautiful lodges where every detail is thought of. It was one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. It was made even better by being able to walk freely around the reserve and get close up to the giraffe who seemed as curious about us as we were them. I would recommend Pomeroy Lodges to anyone.

Perfect

We stayed here at the end of a trip that included all the classic elements of South Africa, from Cape Town through wine and garden route and safari. Pomeroy was a wonderful way to finish, very relaxing, amazing to be able to wander through the farm and see the wildlife, including beautiful birds. The lodge was very spacious and comfortable, and sitting on the deck watching nature was stunning. We also loved the area, as visitors from the  UK it felt we were seeing a different bit of the country, definitely less commercially touristy. Thanks to Judy and Peter for their great hospitality.

A great place to experience a gorgeous environment

We are a an extended family of 15 and we were looking for accommodation near Kleinemonde for a week after Christmas 2019. Pomeroy has proved ideal. The hosts are welcoming and warm and respect our privacy, we have taken all 5 lodges and they are comfortable and very well equipped. Many places of this kind put out 4 knives, 4 bowls, 4 glasses per unit which can be a real pain when you are staying for a week. The lodges are generously equipped with everything you could need. The living spaces are great for teenagers and adults and the setting is lovely. The lodges overlook a giant fig tree which teems with birds in the early morning. Each evening the Nyala, Zebra, Wildebeest and Giraffe are fed nearby. We have been birdwatching and enjoyed extended walks guided by a comprehensive map of the property.  We were looking for a place that would comfortably accommodate 15 and provide space for adults and teens. Pomeroy has been ideal.

A great family environment

This is a great place for people who like wildlife and birds, and prefer staying in comfort. The chalet ('lodge') we stayed in was really comfortable, with all amenities you would want. A 'welcome package' of supplies,even including a bottle of wine, was provided, and the kitchen was well-equipped. It was the first place on our trip where we found a knife that could actually cut anything!
You can go for a walk over the estate to see the (harmless) game and birds, or you can drive the short distance to the coast to visit the beach. We visited the lighthouse at Fish Point, which was good fun. Or you can just sit on the balcony and relax. 
The owners are very helpful and friendly, but don't push themselves onto you.
The only downside I can mention is that the gravel road from the coast is a bit bumpy. Wouldn't be a problem in any normal sedan or hatchback, but you may not want to try it with your super-cool sports car (but this holds for most roads in the Eastern Cape). 

Very comfortable, great for nature lovers

I am lucky to have family in South Africa and to visit yearly. The country never disappoints!  At Pomeroy beautiful spacious thatched lodges with a huge balcony overlooking a stunning view all the way to the ocean greeted us.  At dawn I was treated to the spectacle of seven Blesbok walking in front of our lodge staring at me with nervous eyes, wondering whether I was going to move closer. As I video-ed them and moved within feet they broke into leaps and bounds back in to the bush. A perfect start to a day that just carried on giving.  
I loved that we could just walk around, looking for zebra tracks to see where they went and waiting for them to reappear.  It was made so special by the fact that we were free to roam on foot, which is often not an experience offered to guests on more organised wildlife safaris.  
In the evening we could also watch Judie and Pete give extra sustenance to the impala, nyala and blue wildebeest as they wandered up to the reception.  We were also treated to the sight of a baby impala who was only a few days old.  
While having an afternoon cuppa I heard the sound of cattle bells and looked up to see an African goat-herder crossing the path with his herd of cute white goats.  It was absolutely charming.
Just walking about Pomeroy and discovering the various areas and paths was an absolute treat for someone like me who much prefers to hike and be IN the bush rather than just drive through it.  As a birder I can recommend taking binoculars and you will not be disappointed by the Hoopoes, Jackal Buzzard, Cape Glossy Starling, stunning Knysa Turaco as well as the weaver bird colony by the river.
I can highly recommend Pomeroy and will definitely be back for another visit!

A beautiful retreat amongst fantastic wildlife

My trip to Pomeroy lodges was my first to South Africa and I don't think I could have had a better introduction to the country. 

The lodges are beautiful with everything you could possibly need and the welcome cookies are scrumptious. 

The reserve is stunningly beautiful and so peaceful. Being able to just walk around and discover the many different species of animals, insects and birds is what makes Pomeroy so special, you can really get close to nature and you never know what might be round that next corner. 

The reserve is the perfect place to slow down and escape the stress of modern life. 

I can't wait to return.

A beautiful place to stay

I stayed at Pomeroy lodges November 2019 and it is a very special place which has helped me fall in love with South Africa. 

Judie and Pete are so warm and welcoming and the lodges are incredible.

The reserve is stunning and you'll never be bored with so much to see. The magic of pomeroy is the freedom to go wherever you want and seek out the many different species inhabiting the reserve. Whether you're interested in birds, game, flora, there's something for everyone. 

I fully intend to come back again, judie and pete know plenty of the local activites worth visiting and there's more to see.

A magical place.

Lovely well equipped lodges. - everything you need. We only stayed for 2 nights but enjoyed it so much that we will go back for longer next time. The animals roam free and it is so nice to sit on the stoop and see the animals close by. Lovely walks. The owner is very helpful and pleasant and even supplies food for your breakfast the first morning, or in our case 2 mornings, plus milk, bread and a bottle of wine.  If you like peace and tranquility in nice surroundings this is the place to go. 

 A lovely peaceful place to stay

Tranquility and nature. Take a walk and find yourself amongst the wilderness. Judith the hostess is very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is perfect. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice hot shower and comfortable bed. Everything you need for a well relaxed vacation. The welcome pack is a perfect gift on arrival. The bacon is divine. You won't be disappointed...
