We stayed at Flossies for the weekend and were treated to a fantastic experience of Soweto. Florence organized everything for us from airport transfers to my wife having her hair braided Soweto style. Great beers in the local tavern, tours to Vilikazi St and we always felt safe and sound. Nothing is too much trouble for Florence and her team who are so friendly and helpful. Will return !!!!

Super stay with friendly host

Staying at Flossie's made us feel like home, in the heart of Soweto. Florence and her team were so helpful and friendly. It will give you a real life 'family' experience of Soweto. Also the location is central, just behind Chris Hani Road and near Maponya Mall. Surely coming back to Flossie's!

Flossie's warm welcome to Soweto

We stayed here to be close to the university with our family and Flo and her staff made us feel very welcome. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and well kept. Food very enjoyable and the staff friendly and professional. Went out of their way to make us feel at home as we live regionally and do not know Soweto very well. Our daughter graduated the next day so thank you for making us feel at home.

Exceptional service and quality

Great stay, nice neighborhood, helpful staff and wonderful breakfast.
I will stay there again when I return to Johannesburg.
The room was clean and provided everything I would want. During my tour of 11 locations in East and Southern Africa this gave me one of the best values.
I felt comfortable in the neighborhood. I had a nicer impression of the neighborhood than I expected.

Great stay

Soweto at it's best. We were the only whities in the circuit of 5 km, felt safe, no problems.
In the guesthouse you feel at once at home, very warm atmosphere.
The breakfast is very good, a feeling like at oms kitchen.
Strong recommendation !

A very good place to stay

Please disregard the December 2016 review. When I read it, I thought of canceling my reservation at Flossie's. Thank goodness I didn't. My friend and I spent 4 nights there and were delighted every minute! Florence and her staff are warm and helpful. She even took us on an extensive trip around Soweto sharing her personal experiences and local history. She is an extremely generous person and we are very fortunate to have stayed there. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. There was no smoking or noise anywhere. As others have stated, her breakfasts were excellent. 

While we were there, a young female student from Germany arrived to stay for several months to complete an internship. My friend and I are 75 and 69 years old white American women. All of us felt safe at all times. Come to Flossie's. Don't miss this opportunity. It's the chance of a lifetime. 

Fabulous place and host 

Flossie is a friendly and professional host. Her place is homely and decent. We were travelling from Durban to attend a funeral in Soweto. We had an excellent sleep and the bed was comfortable. We will continue to support black township business.

Very good stay.

Florence was very helpful and available for all our requests and understanding. We had a leaking basin but she immediately took us to other room without hesitation. Will definitely becoming back to Flossie's very soon. 

Very helpful

Check out time was not clear amongst staff members. Water pressure was very low and hot water problematic. Tea/coffee tray had expired supplies. TV didn’t change channels, so we couldn’t watch news and current affairs.
