The rooms are in great need of alot of renovation, as they are in poor condition! The carpets are stained and filthy, the wooden floorboards underneath are very creaky and loose. There was only 1 plug point in our room for recharging.
There was never anyone at reception, and the gong had to be rung several times to call someone. The first ting the receptionist said to me was that I had to pay, before she even greeted me! The gardens were not well kept, the dining room was shabby, old and dusty.
The breakfast was very good, but the owner came in and was very loud and controlling.
I would not stay there again

Very old and neglected

We stayed at Simondium's Country Lodge over the weekend for a wedding and I was surprised by how quaint and gorgeous the location and venue were. Not only were the staff incredibly friendly, but they were also very accommodating and let us check in a few hours early, as well as check out late.

The room was stunning with a super comfy bed, aircon, full-length mirror and large bathroom! We also enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast spread the next morning.

I will definitely be staying there again, and next time will bring my swimming costume so I can enjoy the lovely pool.

What a wonderful stay!

Grandma's old crockery and miscellaneous antiques give it a charm, but the best thing about eating here is the good quality food you get and the lovely and most welcomed cat that keeps you company your entire stay. Some of the wood and plates on display can come across as dusty and this may not be everyone's cup of tea however, there is a lot of character to the place. One thing that could be improved upon is the fact that guests don't always know which way to go as no one is ever at the reception and guests end up waiting there. They have some good looking guest rooms but could change alot to get the place looking more vibrant, fresh and energetic.

Antique feel but could do with a spring in the step

Gordynjies is the Bistro in this old building with antique artifacts for sale. A most intriging visit. Gardens are beautiful with peacocks roaming around.
Lunch was very good. Large portioms of food prepared and presented in a most professional way. Home-made bread fresh from the oven served while we waited for main meal. I had Pork Chops and my wife a Chicken Wrap (needed a take-away box). Reasonably priced. Good craft beer on sale as well. Definitely worth another visit.

Antique lunch

We stayed at the Country lodge from the Friday to the Sunday. The room was neat & clean. Aircon, bar fridge all in working order. The Bed was comfortable and clean. Setting at the Lodge is Rustic and relaxing. The wedding went off smoothly and the Catering was of a Great Standard. We had an excellent weekend.

Attended my Son's Wedding

I stopped by on a business trip. he decor is funky and the staff very friendly.However the fact that there is no facility to eat was not good for me, having already driven a long way on the tour. The room was not very clean and I was bitten by some midges. The ceiling fan needs a good cleaning as did the floor.  Breakfast was adequate.

Good location a bit noisy because of the trucks

Attended a wedding there in March 2016. Absolutely loved the rustic and romantic feel to the venue. Rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Wish we could have stayed longer! Will definitely be back! Great Customer Service!
