Absolutely Fantastic!!! We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. 
Neat and clean. Comfortable bedding and Air conditioning. 
Swimming pool to cool off and a Great Braai area.
Cosy and intimate.

The room at the back of the guesthouse was one of 4 or 5 in a long row opening up onto a narrow back passage, with no view or privacy if the blinds were not kept closed.
The room itself was clean and neat if somewhat sombre.
Breakfast was OK, but nothing spectacular.
Again, loadshedding highlighted the lack of back-up facilities at the guest house

Clean but Cramped

We did not pre-book our accommodation in Upington and through a contact we located two rooms at a good rate, inclusive of breakfast. This guesthouse is very well located on the main street, with a pool area and with beautifully appointed rooms. We loved the majestic four poster bed, the spacious en-suite bathrooms with both a bath and shower, and all the lovely facilities and amenities. The mattresses, linen and towels were all of superb quality – ensuring a quality in-room experience. 
The breakfast consisted of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, butter, jam & cheese, plus a hot plated breakfast - all tasty and freshly prepared. Safe parking is provided.
Ideal for the discerning traveller.

Superb @ Schröderhuis

Arriving at Schröderhuis after a long drive was wonderful - friendly reception, spotless rooms, fridge, coffee/tea, clean towels and swimming pool. We were a group of 8 people and really enjoyed our overnight stay. Our rooms opened onto a verandah with garden chairs and tables, so we spend the evening on the stoep, eating and chatting.
We will definitely call again!  As we left very early the next day, we did not have breakfast.
I should mention that we knew that we would arrive late afternoon, so we ordered two meat platters from Jan Kuhn (@5 pub & grill) and they prepared it on very short notice! Outstanding quality, very tasty and more than enough food for all of us, which we enjoyed on the verandah.

Like an Oasis

Our stay was very good. The students did like the take away breakfast and all efforts were made to accommodate our request. The complaint about us from another guest was unsupported and it should be kept in mind that not everyone speaks Afrikaans 😁 a big thank you to Nicolene that dropped me off at the airport on the Saturday!! 

Visit from EC

The place has lived well. The bed is gritty, the decor is old. The wifi is paying -25 rand per 100 megas as soon as you get past the first 100 - and it worked for at least 5 minutes. None. Breakfast is surprisingly and very average for a establishment that calls itself 4*... the pool, on the other hand, is affordable, even if we haven't tested it.

It's very convenient.

We have the privelidge to stay over at Schröder House and no surprises... Everything was in excelend condition, clean room and en-suite bathroom, great hospitality and friendly reception, perfect location...close to the mall and business area. Still the best place to stay over and still our no 1 guest house in Upington.


Again Excellent Stay Over

We were very kindly received by the hostess. Her willingness to help was impressive. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. The outdoor facilities are very well maintained with a small but fine pool. The breakfast was rich and of excellent quality. This guesthouse is the ideal accommodation as a springboard to explore the surroundings. We can recommend the Schroderhuis without hesitation.

Ideal accommodation

The Schröderhuis guesthouse has rooms in several small buildings. The rooms are entered from the outside. In the center of the complex there is a small pool. The whole complex is very well maintained. Obviously there is no permanent air-conditioned reception. We knocked on the door and were connected to a mobile phone. The owner (manager?) was then present within two minutes. The rooms also have heating (important in southern winter!). The breakfast was typical of South African with toast, eggs on request, etc. Wifi is available, but from my point of view it is expensive (ca. 4 € and access code per day).
