We spent two nights at River Bank Lodge en route to Kgalagadi. What a great choice. Comfortable accommodation in a beautiful garden on the edge of the Orange River. Our host and her team were friendly and always willing to help and advise us. Breakfast was excellent and one evening we had a braai in the garden overlooking the river.
All in all a great stay.

Gorgeous location and warm hospitality

What a lovely place on the Bank of the Orange River. We wanted peaceful and that is exactly what we received. From check in to check out al 9 days was just pleasure. From Maria the owner to her staff was all just so helpful and treated us like we where family. Working in Hospitality it some time makes it hard to find the perfect spot but from the time I made the enquirers to booking and then arriving it was all just amazing. 

Maria you will decently see us again.

Riverbank Lodge Upington

We were supposed to stayover at Belurana River Manor but was contacted in the morning to say that Belurana had experienced a fire and all guests were relocated at the same price to River Bank Lodge. We had a nice room and it was a nice setting. However we felt ripped off when finding out that these rooms were R500 cheaper than that at Belurana and we had paid the same price. The next morning at breakfast was awkward. We ate in silence whilst listening to the owner, Maria, discuss lodge business for the day with her staff. We would not recommend this place, despite its fantastic location.

Disappointment in this stayover

Our first stay in a B&B in Upington and we were delighted at our choice of venue. The position on the Orange is wonderful and the accommodation comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and a special thank you to Maria for assisting us with the refrigeration of our meat. Orange River delight

Set on the banks of the Orange river this small lodge is a perfect peaceful spot in which to stay. Situated on a quiet road just of the main high street. Lush shady gardens, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast. Secure off road parking.

`Lovely peaceful spot'

This is another delightful spot along the Orange River in Upington. The views and the bird life make it so restful, especially after the long haul from the Northern Cape. The rooms are large, well air-conditioned and comfortable. The breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the pool and river and offers the standard English breakfast. Charming staff complete the experience. We had two nights there and used the local large mall for dining out at stalwart favourites, Ocean Basket and Spur – restaurants are mostly closed on Sunday nights in Upington.

Tranquil river setting for unwinding

The best place to sleep at when you visit Upington,the River bank Lodge is the best place to be. Its lovely Garden that is situated right in the bank of Orange River.
The rooms and service is the best for family's, groups,business and Couple. 
Less than 10 minutes drive to Air port and few meters to Town.

Oh dear I spent 3 weeks travelling around South Africa and I am afraid this was the one real disappointment.  Firstly the good news - the b&b is in a lovely position by the Orange River and the room was very good - modern, clean and tidy.  The bad news - you can sit outside overlooking the river unfortunately the timbers of the table (very large pieces of wood) are rotting and there were cigarette ends scattered around.  It wouldnt take much to make the garden a wonderful feature - just tidy it up !  However the real disaster was the breakfast.  South Africa the land of fresh fruit and vegetables - and what was on offer was apples and a few hard plums - and the rest of the breakfast was just bland.  Sorry you need to try harder.

I have stayed at Riverbank Lodge on numerous occasions and have always had a great stay! Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are nicely decorated, with the necessary amenities. Beds are very comfortable and bedding clean and fresh!

Great location, close to town business area, plus a super view!

A beautiful spot on the Orange River in Upington.    Staff is friendly and very accommodating and make you feel welcome.    Rooms are spacious and very clean.  Breakfasts were very tasty and lots to eat.   A great place to stay while visiting the area.  Internet wasn't the most reliable.  Would stay here again.
