My family and I were invited to attend a 21st birthday Party, because we had to drive all the way from Cape Town, we had decided to stay the night and return home the next day so we booked a house for just 1 night. On our arrival to my surprise, I had accidentally booked at the incorrect branch, so our booking was not on the system, however the staff was kind enough to resolve this issue and accommodate me and my family! The service was extremely amazing. 

Our 1 Night Stay

This place must immediately closed, it have massive health risks as it is full of mould. The bedding was not iron, i think they didn't clean it after the previous guest

Excellent staff, verry friendly and the food is also good. Will definitely recommend them any day for a stay or visit.

Riviera Hotel hosted the 2024 Skink Swartland dinner and travelling from Cape Town we decided to stay at the venue. The entire experience, from making the booking, check in and the stay was easy, friendly and great! On top of this, the hotel provided for a memorable celebration of the great Swartland wines, paired with a wonderful menu! Thanks for a visit which was well worth the travel!

We had a function at the Hotel. We decided to rather stay over than driving back to Cape Town. Setting up the function to booking the room was professionally handled. It was a good experience. Thank you, we will be back.

Riviera Hitel

The friendlyness of the staff is next level. To wake up with the calm river view was so amazing!!! Rooms are clean, white linen. Restaurant has beautiful view, the food was excellent!! Would stay there next time.

The best on the Westcoast!!

The room was big, nice coach to sit on. Our car was parked safely at the back of the hotel. TV in our room was not working, personnel came to look at it but still it did not want to work. They offered to move us to another room, but it was too late, and we were already in bed. The room was close to reception and the noise of personnel talking to each other was very disturbing. We ate at the hotel that evening; the food was very good and tasteful. 

Nice stay at Riviera

So we decided to head out for a couple of days, coming back from the Tankwa direction West Coast, with no booked accommodation anywhere, I remembered that a bunch of us stayed over at Riviera before while on a bike trip. 
We were welcomed in the sam professional and friendly manner that we experienced last time. We got a room sorted within minutes and were told where we could park later on after a pub crawl in town. 

First some cold beers and wine at the in house pub to get settled and then off to explore. Awesome and chirpie bar staff, which is just the way it should be in the WC with a twist of local humor. 

Breakfast the next morning was welcomed with a slight hangover, and needless to say, received exactly what we ordered with friendly service. 

All and all you could say that I should have selected everything as 5’s, but there is always room for improvement although I could not fault anything. 

Well done and see you again. 

1 night unplanned

We stayed in the Honeymoon sweet.  The DSTV did not work.  The bathroom were dirty.  The place is lovely but need more loving care.  The duvet inner were old and thin and the duvet cover could not close.  Breakfast yogurt were tasteless.  Good coffee at breakfast. Small changes could make a big difference.  We will visit again.

As I am someone with 20 years of hospitality experience, I felt the hotel just needed someone with drive to take the place from average to excellent (without spending too much money).

Reception was very welcoming and friendly, our room neat and perfect on arrival. We were in the honeymoon suite. 

Went for dinner and noticed the heaters inside were off, I ordered a seafood platter (seeing as we were in the west coast) but noticed all frozen food, half shell mussels, calamari and prawns are always frozen in SA and hake was flavourless (removed during defrosting process). The rice seemed like it was the last dried out pieces on the bottom of the pot which I ended up not eating. My wife ordered a 400g steak, which for some reason was butterflied, it could have been an amazing thick piece of steak but ended up looking like a T-bone, my wife said the steak was really good either way, well cooked and nice basting used (as a chef, for me a good steak does not need basting). There were two functions (birthday parties) on that night and we felt it as the waitrons were missing for long periods when we needed them. 

Went back to the room and dstv was not working (no working channels), they ended up restarting it a few times and later exchanged it with a decoder from another room, it finally ended up working and all channels became available.

Spa bath worked well, bed slept really good, room heaters helped a lot with the cold.

In the morning before going for breakfast, dstv kept losing signal (not really something the hotel can prevent apart from maybe using fibre and streaming services instead). The hotel hairdryer didn't have a two-prong adaptor, had to fetch a plug in reception. 

For breakfast, the heaters again were off, the coffee machine was not working so couldn't get an espresso, got muesli and yoghurt as first course, my bowl was chipped (should throw away all chipped crockery, this bowl also made it passed a chef and waitron) and yoghurt had no fruit pieces (sign of lack of quality and not much of a price difference between fruit filled and smooth). We also sat at the same table as the night before and there was still grit between the grooves of the wooden table. 

The hot breakfast was really good as they used homemade bread (by the hotel or bought in makes no difference, either way it's locally baked), but the tomato was not grilled, was just a thin slice of cold tomato which I ended up not eating. Coffee was Wiesenhof filter which we really enjoyed
