A lovely getaway place with beautiful Villas. The road via escort to the actual place is a little daunting but worth it. But it could be even better if the Wifi was a little more reliable and the food was better.

Great place to unplug

My wife and I visited Dinkweng for the first time. The accomodation is spacious and very clean. The drought is a challenge with very dry conditions. The food at restaurant is top class. We had a very nice dinner in the deck outside the bar area. Lodges 5 to 12 are well spaced and private. Lodge 7 has its own double carport - something that other lodges don’t have as yet. The deck is spacious with dining table to sit 8. The spa is unfortunately not up to standard - perhaps when it is high season is the treatment too notch. Staff assisted with initial problems with gas stove and were quick to assist. Unit 8 is evidence if active maintenance with all wooden doors, frames, and fence around deck having been sanded down, ready for a new coat of protection against the harsh sun. Nice walk to the deck with beautiful view. Read all the instructions  you receive when your booking is confirmed. The 6.5 km from tar road to first gate is sandy with the rest if the way a steady (slow) drive. Our lodge did (for unknown reason) not have Supersport channels on first 2 nights. It was eventually fixed - only a pitty (or maybe not) that I could not watch the Springboks loose against Ireland in 2023 RWC. The kitchen is well equipt except for no place mats for tables and only one wooden board for hot braai bowl. A nice touch is spacious pantry where there is a picnic bag and blanket as well as two emergency lights for loadshedding. Every one of the 3  bedrooms are ensuite with both shower and bath.

Nice and quiet retreat

Excellent accommodation and hospitality. The only snag with the trip is the last 20kms on the way are on gravel road which will require a bakkie or SUV. We were also lucky it didn’t rain as the road would’ve been difficult to manage.

Dinkweng

Our group stay at Dinkweng was an absolutely lovely experience. From organising the trip, being facilitated to enjoying what the area had to offer - everything was more than we had bargained for; the staff was also friendly and patient. 

Each chalet was COVID compliant, safe, beautifully decorated, clean, well-maintained and offered comfort. Each room had it's own bathroom which accommodated the privacy of each person/couple. The surrounding views and the closeness to the bush (while swimming, you would spot wildlife only a few feet away and upon arrival we were greeted by a giraffe a few meters outside our chalet) was a unforgettable experience. 

The images online pale in comparison to the actual experience. I would highly recommend staying here.

More than you bargained for!

Stunning views, beautiful relaxing accommodation and everything you need to have the perfect break.   The only downside is the thatched roof with no ceiling - lots of spiders.  The kids had a wonderful time,  swimming the TV and wifi and the welcome pack with the activity books were greatly appreciated.  Truly stunning with a wonderful relaxing atmosphere, just what you need to recharge your soul.

Perfect break

My first Bush getaway ever and the best. Isolated, with an amazing view and a private swimming pool, with friendly and patient stuff.
Even though the last 10km gravel road wasn’t pleasant but got to the lodge and it was ALL WORTH IT.

Best First Bush Experience Ever!

My girlfriend and I went to Dinkweng for a romantic getway and we were pleasantly surpised with the professionality of the staff.
We were treated like royals.
We will definitely be back before the end of this year.

Exceptional romantic getway

The place is very beautiful and clean, with breathtaking views. However, the place needs to improve on the exit and entrance control. Guest can be spending when money when they need to go out of the lodge control system failure

The most amazing experience

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we stayed in Lodge no. 9 for a weekend.  It was so peaceful and relaxing, even spotted some animals from our deck. The facilities were in a great condition and it is extremely spacious. It's the perfect place to go if you're looking for privacy and tranquility. Will definitely go back!

Amazing Weekend Getaway

Maybe if the photos on the website were replaced with the actual photos of Lodge 5, people would reconsider staying at Dinkweng... The list of things that needs urgent attention goes on and on... A dilapidated thatched roof, spider webs around every corner, a cracked bath, worn toilet seat, broken lamps and other broken decor, a leaking swimming pool, dirty floors, dirty pots and pans, a fence that is a safety risk around the swimming pool... Not value for money at all and a total disgrace for the words "luxury lodge". The best part of the weekend was returning home!
