Our stay at Matingwe Lodge was an incredible experience for us! Why?
1. The lodges are absolutely beautiful with an outstanding view on the nature, are equipped with fancy furniture and the whole resort is extremely clean. 
2. The whole service and meals are fantastic! Breakfast and dinner are included and every meal was super delicious. Tanya and team made an extraordinary job!
3. Game drives: Wow! We had four game drives and our guide Choert brought us next to zebras, hippos, lions, cheetahs, elephants and many many more animals. While having the game drives, Choert taught us so much about animals, the nature and the respect of them and every drive was so much fun due to his entertaining character. These drives created unforgettable memories for us. 
Thank you Tanya and Choert, we will never, never, never forget this trip!

Awesome Experience

We had great stay at Matingwe Lodge. we had such special service, arrival was special, meals were special and also the game drive was awesome. Although the rooms do not have a TV that was a plus as it allowed us to be more present and enjoy our stay and celebrate our time together. 

Great 1-Year Annivesary Stay at Matingwe

We spent more than 4 days in Matingwe and everything was perfect! We were warmly welcomed by Tanya who is also an excellent chef! She cooked delicious dishes and served us very well!!! We made Game Drives every morning with Choert, an excellent guide, very nice and with a lot of humor, he has great experience and very good advice! The room was impeccable, very clean with a large balcony and magnificent views! I highly recommend this place for nature lovers and Epicureans!!

Amazing place!

Absolutely stunning place with amazing on the plain and dozens of animals. The lodges are perfectly maintained and decorated. Excellent welcome from Tanya and Choert who excellent chef and game drivers. 
We enjoyed every second of our stay. Thank you so much for everything.

Amazing lodge in the nature

Absolute 5 star! From walking into the lodge the first time and getting greeted so welcomly to wonderful relaxing rooms to wonderful delicious dining experiences, this lodge is top notch.

The game drives were incredible! Such beautiful scenery, and the game driver (Kurt) was extremely knowledgeable, fun and made it such an adventurous and pleasant time! 

We cant wait to come back! I highly recommend doing your South African adventure here!

Wonderful, adventurous and relaxing time at this top notch lodge!

When planning our trip communication with Tanya was prompt and informative. 
Room was stunning very clean and plenty of room, we particularly liked the outside shower. Food was very tasty both our evening meal and breakfast.
Tanya and Kurt were great hosts. Kurt took us on an evening game drive and an early morning drive we saw lots of animals, Kurt was very knowledgable.
We would highly recommend the lodge.

Amazing night at this delightful lodge

Location: nice area with a lot of different animals. Nice walking route thru the private reserve. 
Lodge: super nice decorated, nice and clean. Big room with a nice terrace and a view on animals. Bathroom beautiful interior. Outside shower, inside nice tiles a bit dark in the shower but shower is super. 
Food: good breakfast with musli and warm breakfast. All fresh. Diner just perfect, taste delicious. 
Stuff: nice, friendly, open to help. The couple who is running the lodge are so friendly and helpful open to talk, etc. Game drive: 2 minutes drive to the big five reserve. Guide is so funny well connected and organized. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, but we got rain poncho, and a super guide who made the best out of it. Saw a lot of animals and learned much about the area and the animals.
We felt very welcome at the lodge and will leave as friends.

Beautiful lodge with a great view and a great couple which runs the business

Beautifully appointed chalets with everything you’d need during a stay, the units are close to the main building which has games and couch seating for groups. 

The friendly and welcoming management and staff delivered service that made it feel like a home away from home. 

We enjoyed breakfast out on the deck and dinner in the lodge building. The food was really delicious. 

We did both game drives every day and saw multiple lion, rhino, and elephant and more. 

We are booking and planning our return visit for next year.

An absolutely amazing experience

This was our first of 4 stops at private reserves in South Africa and Botswana and are very thankful that our travel advisor chose Matingwe. Kurt our guide and Tanya  his wife and lodge manager  were superb, great service, great food, great lodging and great game drives. Kurt’s knowledge was amazing and he was so patient with our endless questions. We saw cheetah and lion families eating their kill, many, many different types of hoofed animals, cute groups of warthogs, jackals,  baboons, many herds of elephants and even an aardvark out during the day. We were  lucky to be in a very strong anti poaching reserve and saw the rhinos with horns.  At the next reserve the rhinos no longer had horns. The terrain with its wheat coloured sand and huge rocks was really interesting and we were always waiting for a rock to wag its tail in the hopes it was another lion. My friend and I really enjoyed our mid game drive snack, wine and pee stops.

Amazing three night stay in a private reserve

What a perfect stay! You have to try the game drive with Kurt! It’s amazing! 

Very nice bed, beautiful area, amazing outside douche and the bath is so nice! 

We can’t say anything about the food. Lunch: great, dinner even better!
