What a fantastic lodge run by the most friendly staff. The team looked after me and my friends as if we were a part of the family. 

Birthday Weekend away

We enjoyed a truly unforgettable experience over three days at Tshwene Lodge. The professional attention of the lodge staff made for a very comfortable stay, and thanks to Cina were extremely well nourished.
Thomas, our game guide was exceptional and ensured we got to see the big 5 during our 3 day visit even though the 36000 ha Welgevonden reserve is not too densely stocked with game.  His knowledge of the birdlife and the fauna and flaura is possibly the best we've ever encountered.
There may be more luxurious game lodges available in SA, but the experience you get at Tshwene, in our opinion, ticks every box to afford one a fantastic experience.

Unforgettable Experience

Our three day stay was a truly unforgettable experience. The staff were absolutely exceptional and the game drives and meals were of the highest order - well done Thomas, Cina, Lena, Maria and Paul.
The reserve may not have the highest game population, but with the excellent guiding we received from Thomas we got to see the big five over the three days we were there - a big thank you all.
You will not be disappointed.

UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE

What an incredible place in an amazing reserve. Asking myself how we have never been to Welgevonden Game Reserve before. Tshwene Lodge was the perfect intimate setting for an anniversary trip. Everything about the lodge was brilliant - service, food, setting, game drives. Was a real treat. 

Anniversary Trip

Excellent for rhino, buffalo, elephant and lion sightings.  Beautiful peaceful lodge location in the reserve offering a luxury yet authentic bush experience.  Friendly and helpful staff.  The food was great and the game drives excellent.

Tswhene Lodge was an amazing, peaceful and special  place to unwind and relax. Staff were very attentive to our needs and ensured we had the best stay. Food was delicious and prepared by Chef Sinah. We had fantastic animal sightings with Johannes our game ranger, who was professional, cheerful & knowledgable..will definitely be returning.

A secret gem in the bush

We really did enjoy to stay at Tshwene lodge from the warm welcome until our departure. We did enjoy as well the massages and the  quietness of the beautiful location of the lodge.
The food was eccellent No buffet as there are only 5 rooms. The smbiance was very private.

Perfect couple retreat

Tshwene Lodge is soulful.  Ezekiel,  the manager,  and his team are first class.  From the moment you arrive they are attentive,  joyful,  full of knowledge and meet you with the warmest smiles. The chef is simply wonderful.  He goes out of his way to deal with difficult dietary requirements.  The food is just spectacular.  Take the time to enjoy the spa.  Linah and her team are warm,  always smiling and give the best massages. Gibson is a brilliant ranger. We saw everything from zebra, kudu, red hartebees to the big 5 and the most spectacular cheetah and leopard kills.  He is intuitive and full of knowledge.  If you are looking for peace  and soulful time away,  visit Tshwene.  Not just because you will experience amazing sights - you can get that anywhere.  Go to Tshwene for the people and the deep sense of calm and soulful happiness that this place offers. 

A place of soulful happiness

The lodge is first class with an excellent team - accommodation, food and guiding were all really well done. The lodge is well situated in the amazing Welgevonden reserve and we were treated to an incredible array of wildlife - the morning and afternoon drives took us all over the reserve. The guide goes above and beyond, we were lucky to have Elias and the whole team at Tshwene to make it an unforgettable experience.

Most definitely a beautiful site to unwind and escape the the city life. You be taken care of in the best way. Game drivers that will give you the best landscape and diverse of species. You will come close with the big 5*
