umSisi House is a wonderful little "hotel", established in a private home, with lovely bedrooms (and integrated bathrooms), a fantastic veranda for breakfast, socializing, evening drinks and a host couple who are charming, personal and cook absolutely fantastic food in their lovely kitchen, fully adapted to the guests' tastes.

No better place than  Umsisi House to visit the Kruger Park! Amanda and Paddy were  caring for our family during our stay, it felt just like home.After seeing lioness, buffalos and rhinos, arriving at Umsisi House is like entering a safe heaven.Space is everywhere, terrace, living room, dining rooms. It makes one feel very comfortable.The food was a real experience, Paddy is an amazing and truely passionate cook.

Absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful house!  Great hosts, food, accommodation, and location.  Amanda and Paddy are very gracious hosts and pay attention to detail to ensure their guests enjoy their stay at their lovely property.  They helped book a day in the Kruger with a very knowledgeable guide, and provided a delicious picnic that day, as well as the next for our self-drive (in spite of our late confirmation).  Would love to return -  it's truly special to wake up to those views and to know that the day ahead will be filled with adventure (or a lazy day at the house) and good food and company :-) 

Beautiful property with wonderful hosts, food, and views... next to Kruger Park

 UmSisi House had been on our bucket list for many years with very high expectations.   We finally made it; the only disappointment was our overnight stay on the way to Kruger  was way too short. Amanda and Paddy invited us into their beautiful home and welcomed us like long lost family (other than family do not always get the VIP treatment which Amanda and Paddy provide!) The furnishing are stunning, matching the views across the valley, lovely gardens for strolling to enjoy the Lowveld diverse fauna and bird life, tour of the property, sundowners up the mountain, delicious braai dinner, sumptuous breakfast  etc. Thank you  so much and hope to be back for a longer stay next time, Jonathan and Liz from Oz    

Expectations  exceeded 

We have just spent the most fabulous couple of days with Amanda and Paddy at Umsisi house. The house and grounds are totally stunning and the food really is on another level. Paddy and Amanda were the perfect hosts and couldn’t have done enough for us and our children. Particular highlights for them were seeing the chickens, collecting the eggs and driving in the defender to the top of the mountain. A special mention to Lily the dog who is an absolute star! Wonderful stay

A truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Paddy and Amanda are the most fantastic hosts and their cooking is some of the best we've ever had. Their attention to detail is excellent, they organized everything and could not have been more helpful. The house is spectacular as is the setting and the staff are lovely and helpful. South Africa itself was beyond our expectations and everything together made for one of the best holidays we've ever had. Could not recommend highly enough.

Expeirience of a lifetime.

We have just returned home after spending ten days at Umsisi House on a family holiday like no other. Words can’t describe how amazing our stay with Paddy and Amanda was. Their attention to detail is extraordinary. I simply cannot recommend staying at UmSisi House enough. 
The welcome feel, the wonderful staff, the effortlessly arranged activities, the simply sublime food and daily delicious picnics provided for our days out. They leave no stone unturned to ensure a perfect holiday. If you are looking for the best holiday destination near Kruger National Park, look no further, Umsisi House is a must visit! I guarantee you will not find anywhere better to stay in the region.

10 day family holiday at Umsisi House

Best Christmas ever if you want to chill for a few days maybe before going on a safari. Amanda and Paddy, the most friendly, warm and professional hosts spoiled us with great food, wine, and all you could wish for. Picknick up the mountain, pool, the best terrace ever with a breath taking view and a GT to die for 😉 my warmest recommondations to come here for you holiday!

Amazing days in an amazing villa

Wonderful holliday.  Gorgeous home with kind and genrous hosts.  Plenty to do nearby or wonderful to sit and enjoy the hospitality, views and delicious food.  Relaxed and charming home from home.  Wish we were still there - will need to return soon.  Highly recommend.

Perfect Africa

From the moment we stepped out of our arriving vehicle, we felt so welcome, and it didn't take long before we kicked off our boots for the evening, and were totally relaxed and at home.  Usual holidays can take me at least a few days to "tune out" from work life, which is terribly annoying when you have limited time, but Paddy and Amanda have that special ability to know what you need, when you need, without seemingly any effort at all. 

Each of the meals we had were made with love and attention, and were utterly delicious.  I loved the fact we were served dishes made with seasonal and local produce as much as possible, many of the ingredients coming directly from the home grown herbs, vegetables and fruits within the grounds of Umsisi House.  

Amanda created us a perfect itinerary of activities for each day (all of which were accompanied by a beautiful packed picnic basket, so we never went hungry).  Each adventure showcasing the wonderful nature and beautiful scenery of their surroundings.  

Thank you both for taking such good care of us, we will be back.
