We had a very good time on this lodge. The house is beautiful, the location is very nice. We had plenty of time to relax , but also to use the surrounding trails, go swimming, and enjay the meals. The breakfast was good. Markus made everything to give us a comfortable home 

Holiday in wilderness

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of December 2018 staying in room 4. This is such a fabulous place set amidst a breathtaking setting overlooking the lake. My room had its own balcony and I spent many hours just relaxing and reading.
The room itself is very luxurious and all guests have the whole lodge to themselves- there is a very large and comfortable living room along with a fully stoked honesty bar.
The breakfasts in the morning are cooked to order and are tasty and substantial.
Ichibi is located just outside of Wilderness on the road to Knysna and is a perfect place to base yourself when exploring the region.
Marcus and staff are always at hand to make sure you have everything you need and Marcus can make dinner reservations at any of the eateries in Wilderness.
Special mention to Blessing who made sure I had everything I needed on a daily basis.
This is a fabulous place run by people that care and I would 100% recommend this to anyone who requires somewhere to stay on the Garden Route.
I will be back again!

Incredible lodge in an unforgettable setting

For a venue of this calibre and the arrogance of the manager I expected top service, I expected decent toilets (not just one), I expected well lit pathways and paving for ladies in heels and I definitely expected fridges to keep drinks cold, not buckets and basins filled with ice that was supplied by the guests! 

Wedding 

We attended a beatiful wedding there but was dissapointed with having warm drinks as there are no bar fridges at ceremony or Marquee. The hosts had to bring buckets with ice! Ladies had to navigate rough terrain in high heels to use the ONE toilet that did not lock and no lighting between the trees either! The Ceremony deck has no coverage from rain or heat. Owner is rude, changes contracts and agreements, is forceful and patronising, make sure you have everything in writing! I would not recommend this venue to anyone.

Dissapointing

This is an amazing place! Great, modern equiped and designed lodge, erected and decorated in a somewhat chinese style in an amazing landscape. Marcus was a great host, helping with recommendations for great restaurants in the area, hiking tracks, ordering of take-away food, etc. Good hiking tracks in the area and the great beach of Wilderness just 10 mins by car.
The perfect location in Wilderness is you like ist more quiet and you travel by car.
