Thank you. We had a 3-night group booking at the Bush Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 
It had an old farm feel, spacious and real close to nature, bird life and of course the mountains. 

Long weekend stay

We wanted to book a very close place for when we go on a hot air balloon the following day at 4H40 and we stayed here my word, we were there for one day and we wished for more, the place is so cosy and you are surrounded by nature, it is clean, quiet and safe. The perfect place to get away from the city life and stress. The host wow amazing friendly people so welcoming, we had a great experience😁

Short stay wishing for a longer stay

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. The garden surrounding the cottage was beautiful, the host Linieta was warm and welcoming, ever ready to assist us. The space was neat and clean and met our expectations, we will definitely be back. 

Overnight Stay

Was a amazing time we had even with load shedding, they supply enough wood for a bush tv till late nights. Was a amazing picture early morning when the hot air balloon take off, its a must visit place in anyone's beget, just sad we couldn't explore the please but definitely next time.   

Sbc solutions

We informed the lodge that we had an incidence and the car broke down and the car needed to be towed back home,it was not our intention not to make it but our money was never refunded,so sad to loose money and spending a weekend away to celebrate my son's birthday

We never made it due to an incident taking place on our way to the backpackers

Simple but functional rooms, clean enough and close to the Drakensberg trailhead. Well-equipped community kitchen. Poorly insulated rooms (you hear the neighbors a lot) and some mattresses to replace.

In the Wild

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the lovely self catering spacious cottage after returning from a multi day hike in the Drakensberg. Stargazing from the stoep (porch) while listening to the nighttime nature sounds was especially memorable. 

Tranquil countryside stay

Excellent service! Beautiful garden and view. Farmstyle atmosphere.  Will recommend to anyone who wants to overnight stay to do the Drakensberg ballooning the next morning.  Friendly service. Clean rooms.

The Drakensberg Bush Lodge and Backpackers is the perfect location for a family getaway. As a family of eight traveling can be very tricky because accommodation is often a problem, but Emile and his family made us feel safe, relaxed and completely at home. This little gem is fully equipped and beautifully maintained - a real home away from home. We will definitely be returning to this amazing spot again. We would highly recommend a stay here.

What A Fantastic Experience

It's been 4 wonderful nights! the rooms are simple, but very comfortable. the kitchen has all the tools you need. the surroundings are fantastic for short walks. it's close to the main mountain routes of the Drakensberg. it's been all very positive, Emile and his wife are two very nice people; contact with them is immediate and if any problems arise, they are responsible for solving it. absolutely recommended!!
