Wonderfull stay .  The children enjoyed it very much and the staff is so good in getting the children together in activities  throughout the day.  The  meals is outstanding and overall very good value for money.   Rooms are  very clean and specious.

Jewel of the Drankesburg

The staff are very friendly and the food was amazing. The hotel is in need of some painting in some spots, but sure that will be dealt with in the off season. The bathroom has a quick heating system which is wonderful on a wet cold day. Overall a fun long weekend with family. There was plenty for everyone to do.

Perfect family destinaton

Once again, tip top experience at Champagne Castle. Lovely staff, excellent food as usual - albeit one or two items less at the buffet - and enjoying the company of Georges; Gary and the inimitable Barrie Bramley. Love it more every time, and looking forward to the next. Anticipating a big renovation of the rooms, but hoping little else changes.

Another great time spent at Champagne Castle Hotel.

We had a lovely family holiday and would definitely return. The food was delicious, the room was spacious and the hikes were breathtaking. The staff were so lovely and it was great to that there was a holiday programme for the kids. The only negative was the noisy generator near to the family rooms. Also, the games room and bar could do with an update/revamp to match the beautiful dining room.

Wonderful family getaway

Location was GREAT, but the chalet was a big disappointment. The furniture is not just old, it is worn out. The roof leaked - for the 4 nights we were there, we could not watch TV since it rained every night, and the coach and the floors were wet. We had to phone reception to bring us towels to put on the floor not to slip on the wet floors, and on the coach not for it to be drenched in water. Although they gave us a 20% discount - I would rather pay the money and enjoy the atmosphere and the location in a dry and hassle-free environment. It was clear that the roof leak was not something new and unexpected - the water marks on the wall and coach was proof that this was something the resort knew about - it must have been leaking for some time, I assume it is easier and cheaper to apologize and give a discount, than to block the chalet and fix the roof. 
Very disappointing experience since they could not even move us as it was during the Easter Holidays.

Magnificent views - despite disappointing accommodation.

The place is superb, very clean and elegant, the kitchen ambience sets the mood the day. The food is great. We really enjoyed ourselves.  The fact there is no load shedding because they have generators that kicks in immediately when load shedding starts was a cherry on top. Will defensively go back. I am not a fan of milk tart but I enjoyed the milk tart. 

Great place to recharge

Great stay, accommodation was very nice, clean and comfortable.  Food was excellent, would stay again and recommend. 
Large generator for power shedding.  Staff were very friendly and would go out of their way to please us.

Great stay

This property and staff ensure that every stay remains memorable.  Excellent service, rooms with the most beautiful views - the self catering cottages are a MUST.  Great hiking trails that start from the property and as always well priced for what you receive.  One of the best kept gems in the Central Drakensberg.  If you want to book a get-away with the family I recommend a chalet and then the hiking trails.  Loads of things to do within the area as well.  Location 100%.  Thank you CCH you will forever remain our number one choice based on service, excellence, price and your fabulous staff. 

Home away from Home

We enjoyed our stay, quality linen and comfortable beds, and great meals. Limited DSTV bouquet. Very nice walks from the hotel steps with a guide. Take rain gear for hiking when wet. The pool is great.

Lovely hotel.

We had booked for a Pre-Valentines getaway. The choice was excellent. We booked a room with Full mountain view. the view was breathtaking. The room was cosy, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Everything felt romantic , with an olde-world charm. The bathroom was large and beautiful ,the heated towel rails was welcome on that particularly cold weekend. The meals  provided were delicious and well prepared. The service in the restaurant was efficient and welcoming. Looking to return to this stunning resort soon!
