There was located in central area in Andong, I didn't check hotel review, so I was failed to choose hotel. I chose this hotel, the named "hotel" and price, and I believed there was hotel. But there was just motel with motel price. 
I didn't understand why I pay more price thought online booking about 15%. So I asked staff why more expensive? The answer was simple, because of online booking fee. I think I was fooled. In this mood, I felt terrible on my Andong trip. 
If there introduced "Motel" and same price online and offline, there was above normal reputation. But this two point made me there terrible hotel.

There was not hotel, but just motel. I was fooled.

A friend and I book the VIP twin bed bedroom via Agoda.com. When we arrived, we checked in and went to the room. Instead of giving us the room advertised, they had given a standard room with a double bed.

*Side note: this room was absolutely filth. This is clearly a love motel with bodily stains on the bedding and people's personal left behind.

Thinking that they made a mistake with our room, I went downstairs and explained that they gave us the wrong room. The manager stated that the Agoda website sells their too cheap so we only deserve a cheap room. The manager then said we should pay double for the vip twin room. Travelling on a budget, this wasn't an option. Even after showing our confirmation receipt, the manager continued to ask for more money. 

As I'm travelling with a mate, sharing a bed with him wasn't desirable, so we asked for a lower grade twin room or just a refund. The manager then said the only twin room available is the vip room and we need to pay extra for it. In addition, she claimed that cant offer a refund and if we left for another hotel, she would consider us as a 'no show', meaning we would lose 100% of our payment.

I spoke to Agoda over the phone and they deemed that the hotel is scamming us for more money and breaking their contractual agreement between Agoda.com and themselves. They asked us to leave the property regardless of refund or not as they will now seek our money back on our behalf and take appropriate action against this hotel for their misconduct. 

So while this hotel might seem good value or even cheap online, don't believe it. They will ask you to pay the rack rate or give you a room that is nothing similar to what you originally booked for.

Scamming, misleading love motel.

We booked a room early in May at this hotel through Agoda for one night in October, knowing it would be during the busy International Mask Festival.  Agoda confirmed this reservation on June 7th, as coming from the Hotel.  However, we had not received directions to the hotel or any other information, so we made some attempts to reconfirm through emails to the hotel and Agoda, and neither responded.  Finally, at the end of September, we engaged the help of the President of the South Korean Student Travel Agency to inquire and confirm.  He called and was informed by the hotel that they had cancelled the reservation and informed Agoda to contact us.  No communication was ever given to us by Agoda or the hotel.  We were able to get a reservation at another hotel (just barely through Expedia), but after the supposed date of our stay, Agoda sent us a survey on how we enjoyed our stay at the Agoda Hotel. Unbelievable!  Travelers should avoid and boycott both the Andong Hotel and Agoda.  They are unreliable, and, in my opinion, dishonest.

Stayed here for 3 nights. We had a VIP
Room. The decor was tacky. The bathroom was dated and there were some personal items of previous guests left behind. 
The worst thing was the bed; it was like sleeping on a bag of cement. Noisy A/C wasn’t very conducive to a good nights’ sleep. Location is very central though.

Very, very hard bed!

Extremely kitschy (it has that love hotel look, a little bit too much) but extremely good value and close to the train station in Andong and everything you may need in the center of the city.

Good value hotel in the center of Andong

What more can you ask of a hotel in a place like Andong? What I mean by that is, this is not the stop where you seek a lux resort; likely it is a one night stop-by, either to check out the local flavor of the town, use it as a jump off point to tour some of the local attractions, or you are, like we were, there for the Mask Festival. 

The location is great- right on a walking street, which leads to the local covered market and the retail shopping district. Perfect walk-around place, right from the hotel lobby if you want to do a little exploring easily.  If you are there for the Mask Festival, it is a short 10/15 min walk to the festival grounds, very easy.

The room was clean and tidy, and offered toiletries and in room as well as free in lobby coffee, always a bonus for me ( big time coffee lover lol ). All in all, an excellent budget traveler's hotel.
