Clean. Very friendly staff. Gave us toast and coffee for breakfast free. Great location. Just around corner from train station/ bus stops to & from all places of interest. Tourist info just outside train station. Food street and shops just across the road

The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and the location was very good for the local food area and the bus to take you to Hahoe as well as being very very close to the train station and an easy journey from the bus station. Would recommend staying here!

For any hotels offered on this Agoda site, please make sure  you Google the address to ensure it’s a legitimate building and not a vacant lot or other non livable location. Most importantly before you pay CALL and speak with someone to verify is a legitimate hotel.

I’m visiting South Korea for the first time with my mom, celebrating her birthday - she loves South Korean culture.  We planned to visit several cities, including Andong after our 3-day stay in Seoul. I booked “Queen Hotel Andong” 2 days before traveling to the city. I found the offer on “Agoda” which shown a very low price offer ($37 per night). Since I didn’t want to spend much money in this visit, I opted for this offer. First lesson:  this was a  “too-good-to-be-true deal”,. Second lesson: the pictures of the outside hotel didn’t seem real but I ignored them. Make sure you verified the images and specially, this is a MUST: google the address.. In my case, the address didn’t exist. After I arrived at the Andong Bus Terminal, I took a taxi, the taxi driver couldn’t find the address provided on my confirmation (10-15, Geommu-ro, Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Andong-si, South Korea), I also tried to google it. We spent almost one hour driving and looking for the address. When we called the number, this was an automated voice message that was fake.  It was a scary moment where I had to find another hotel for us. The area where we were was isolated and our driver didn’t speak any English and couldn’t understand what was going on.  After, paying for another hotel, I kept calling and doing my research about this hotel. I found out that there several offers of the hotel in different sites like Agoda (where I found it), Booking.com, Trip.com, HotelsCombined.com, TripAdvisor and many others. I also found out that the hotel uses DIFFERENT ADDRESSES like this one:
18, Malgeunsaem 5-gil, Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do 36706 South Korea. The pictures of the outside building also look fake and if you look at the pictures of “cafetera”  or “lobby” , they don’t look like a real hotel. Additionally, they have very few reviews and all suspicious. On the Agoda site, it shows about “300” but when you clicked  on them and tried to read, it only shows 3 (one in English and 2 in another language. I did the translation and they don’t make any sense.  Lastly, on my reservation there was no a direct call number, everything was responded by a chat bot that didn’t give the option to contact the property and kept showing my confirmation. When I called Agoda, a guy from India told me that he called the hotel and a person in Korean responded. I asked  him to give me the  number and when I called it was an automated service. I wrote and asked for a refund and to remove this hotel from their site.  I haven’t heard anything back. Im grateful it wasn’t more money but still the scary moment and knowing you’ve been scam is a horrible experience, specially when it trying g to celebrate my moms birthday.  I’m  going on all my social media to warn people from being victims of this “bait and switch scam”.  Also, I didn’t realize that Agoda wasn’t a reliable site. They have hundreds of complains about a similar experience than mine with hotels in different parts of the world. Please don’t fall for the “too good to be true” deals and make sure you do your research the hotel. Even better, show hotel chains that are known and reliable. I’m disputing this charge with my bank and filing a complain with the BBB.
