Hotel Marcher has a lot of things going for it. The rooms are among the biggest I have seen for hotels in Korea. They are clean and functional, and they provide all the necessities for a comfortable stay. 

The hotel is in a busy section of Busan and it is convenient to tons of restaurants and street activity, so if you like to be in the center of things, this hotel is a good choice. It is also close to the Line 1 metro and is only a few stops away from Busan Station.

Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. 

What keeps this hotel from a higher rating is the lax attitude toward smoking in the rooms. Marcher bills itself as being a smoke-free facility, but my room was very smoky when I checked in. The hotel was completely booked that night, so I had to sleep in a room that smelled like a dirty ashtray. Unlike other hotels that provide written warnings of fees if you smoke in rooms, there are no such messages at Marcher. Even when I was moved to a different room the following day, I could still smell cigarette smoke in the hallways and even seeping in at times to my bathroom.

Smoking seems to be at epidemic levels in Korea, and it appears that Hotel Marcher is hesitant to fight what seems to be a national norm. If you don't mind the smell, this hotel is excellent. If you need a smoke-free environment, I would look elsewhere.

Hotel Marcher was a gem.

Staff were very sincere. We arrived in the cold and the 2 ladies at front desks reminded me of how mums would welcome their kids back, after a long journey. They made us so welcome with their warm smiles. One of them even lent us umbrellas when it rained as we stepped out. 
The difference in language did not matter, all that hand gesture and action were beautiful. 

The room was simple, clean and neat. it had all we need. The bathroom was wonderful with a tub and very useful toilet seat, which gave warm seat in the cold weather. 

It wasn't next to the subway but could walk to in 3 to 5 mins. It's in front of a huge market with food. We settled our short meals everyday. 

There's a stall that sells the best hottaek in the night after 8pm. It's one of those stall set up in the middle during the night. 

Check in and out were very easy.

I should not tell you

Really pleased with my stay at Hotel Marcher. 
I could have not asked for a better location - plenty of bus stops to the most important destinations (train station, cultural village, ...) walking distance to many attractions - Gijang Market, Yongdusan Park.Close to many interesting restaurants, Gukje market, street food vendors as well as shopping outlets!

Not to mention, very clean hotel, with great facilities and helpful staff!


Excellent location and great value

I’ve no idea why this hotel doesn’t have more reviews because it’s excellent! Staff were brilliant and rooms were large and modern! Right next door to markets but quiet enough to sleep. Breakfast was nice too (more convenience that we did it)

Excellent hotel, near shopping markets

Hotel Marcher enjoys a perfect location in the city, close to several markets (Jagalchi for fish, Bupyeong Kkangtong for street food, Gukje market for cosmetics, fabrics, electronics and street food as well as the international film festival district  BIFF square  where there are also plenty of food stalls). To enjoy ourselves we took the Royal Suite which was not very expensive (~115€ per night). The staff must have had trouble with the tourists because there were several misunderstandings/communication problems.

Very nice location, clean and comfortable

Very well located hotel, close to a metro exit and Jagalchi Market. The room was clean and spacious. The only negative point, the sink in the room and not in the bathroom. Very courteous staff. Good quality/price ratio.

Well-placed hotel

My 3 friends and i visited marcher hotel recently. Travelling from Seoul to busan via KTX. From KTX take a taxi to hotel marcher. Make sure you print out the address in Korean as many of the cab drivers cannot  read English. Also,  at the KTX station there are directional sides to the taxi stand. Find the side to nampo. If you are a solo traveller with little luggage taking the metro to jalgalchi station exit 3 can also get you there. However the cost of the take is about 4000-5000 KWon so if you have more than 2 pax it's worth the price (subway tic is 1500). 
The hotel is clear and bed is comfortable. My friend enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub.  There is even complimentary drinks in the fridge and free coffee at level 1. 
The staff are super friendly. I would particularly recommend Ms Lee Ji Eun  and Mr Chong Eun Jin.. they were very helpful and when they had problems communicating would use a translating app to help us find our way. 
The street food at BIFF square was great especially the hotteok1 and eumeok.. just look for the queues. 
On the day we left they also help to arrange for a bus to Napo express bus terminal for us as we wanted a jumbo cab so we could go together w our large luggage. The taxi service they arranged was great and not expensive too.. 
Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location.

Great find in Busan and friendly staff

I spent a month in Korea and this hotel and one of the worst! if you want a cabinet in the room you have to pay extra, if you want two beds you have to pay extra...and besides this hotel doesn't offer breakfast! the staff doesn't speak a word of English which is obviously not practical at all. we were forced to stay the four nights reserved with all our clothes in the suitcases there are only two cinemas for two people. I don't recommend this whole hotel even if it doesn't seem very expensive but it's not worth more or less.

Don 't rely on pictures.

I loved my time at Hotel Marcher in Busan! The hotel looks very new, has a nice modern look to it and was very clean and well-appointed. 

I booked the Royal Suite which had a huge deck overlooking Busan with an outdoor bath and big lounge chair. It's too bad I wanted to explore, because I could have spent all day just enjoying the deck!

Location is good and you can easily walk to the fish market (apparently one of the largest in S Korea?), a great night market with yummy street food great for lunch or dinner, BIFF square and a busy downtown area with shops, restaurants and bars. 

Jay at the front desk was amazing! He had plenty of great reccommendations and was so helpful in helping me get around without speaking a word of Korean. He even wrote out some Korean instructions to help me get around my next couple of stops in S. Korea.

Absolutely recommend Hotel Marcher to anyone in the area!
