I stayed for business for 2 nights. Good location, close to good restaurants, bars and cafes. Old-looking hotel. The breakfast is a terrible one; a table with a loaf of bread, a toaster machine and a jar of juice (yes, just one). The rooms are old, the bed is as hard as sleeping on a table, next to the bed was a mirror stand in which there were certain amenities like a hair brush, comb, lotions, creams, hair gel, etc. What gave me a lot of disgust is that it was used and the brush had hair! I didn't use it, but out of curiosity I was very close to seeing... The spacious bathroom, basic amenities like shampoo, personal accessories, dental cleaners (all in general).

Hotel basico, regular

Although the first impression was good, I was deeply disappointed. The room is spacious and well equipped, yet I had a serious problem with my internet connection that they have not been able to solve. Finally, I have to work at the reception until late at night. It is not a stupid Internet addiction, but professionals who travel the world and need to work, it is NOT acceptable for a mid-range hotel. Also, the boy who was at the reception did not know English and spoke to me through a mobile translator, INCREABLE!!! If you were in Africa, you would, but in South Korea? one of the developed countries (from a more technological point of view) of the world?

It is unacceptable, avoid it.

Check in was fast and room was under my wife's name. We stayed there 8 nights from 1-9th Nov 2015. However, we were initially given a small room 701, with cigarette smell. I requested for a room change as I am asthmatic, and we were lucky to be given a much bigger room 710. Room was clean and the bed is comfortable. We didn't find the bed to be too hard...it was just nice. We asked for extra pillows and given with no extra charges. I love the shower water pressure and the different shower head configurations. They supplied full toiletry items, including hair spray, hair gel and hair mousse. Love the flat screen TV with lots of channels with some English channels. Wifi is free and good speed.

Breakfast was simple but enough, with Korean spread of rice, soup, seaweed, kimchi and 2 other side dishes; Western spread of bread with butter and jam, cereals, scrambled eggs, fries; and orange juice, coffee and tea. Breakfast time is from 7.30am-9.30am.

Although communication was a bit of a challenge as the front desk officers have limited grasp of English, Google Translate and body language helped. They tried their best to assist us in any way they could. It also doesn't hurt to know simple Korean words as this will also help us a long way. As it is, we are in their country.

Location of the hotel is near subway Sangmu station and immediately behind Ramada Plaza Hotel. Lotte Mart is a 5 minutes walk where you can find groceries and do some shopping. However, there are lots of Korean eateries, bakeries and similar 7 Eleven shops surrounding the hotel. Kimdaejung Convention Center is 30 minutes walk or around 3000 Won by taxi ride.

If we ever come to Gwangju again, yes we will stay here again.

Comfortable Stay

Stayed 5 nights.
We wanted to stay near the bus terminal as we were exploring Jeollanam-do.
Taxi is easily available and costs approximately 5,000won to get to the hotel from the bus terminal.

There was not much space to move around in the room. There was no room wifi until a hotel staff installed a router in our room. Bed is very hard and uncomfortable. No extra pillows given as well.

Housekeeping was not meticulous and consistent. Sometimes there would only be 1 set of towels, while sometimes 2 sets of towels. There were no glasses provided in the room despite the existence of a kettle. Instead, paper cups were provided. However, sometimes paper cups were also not replenished by housekeeper. 

Hotel staff are friendly. However, hotel staff cannot speak English or Mandarin, resulting in some frustrations with communicating what we needed. Our friends staying on the other floor did not have room wifi at all during their entire stay as we could not get the hotel staff to understand that their room needed a router.

Hotel breakfast was always only 2 eggs with bread and a small slice of bacon. On our last day, we were directed to eat the Korean-style breakfast in a meeting room. We were rather horrified that there were only some leftovers remaining. Apparently the hotel workers already ate their breakfast and this was what was left for hotel guests. I do not know what to think of this! There was no way for us to communicate our shock to the staff since none understood English or Mandarin.

Will not stay in this hotel again.

Basic hotel

The receptionist only speak corean, at my floor stey tree days whiouht wify, the room is corect size, but the toilet is not soo clean, last day I have problems to my key, and spend arround 10 minutes to explain and correct the fault in the reception.

Poor

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel whilst exploring Gwanju and it acted as a very good base. The location is 5 minutes walk from Sangmu subway station and there are always taxis around as it's right next to the Ramada. The room was clean and very spacious. The shower was excellent and there is a Jacuzzi bath provided too. The bed was comfy and the hotel was silent at night which was great. The staff weren't overly helpful when we checked in but spoke a good level of English - all they did was give us our key and didn't give us information about breakfast or facilities at our disposal. We didn't get to have breakfast as it ended at 9.30am which was a a bit inconvenient for us. Apart from that I think this hotel is very good value for money compared to most hotels in Gwangju and I would stay again.



A good base to explore Gwangju

I was staying in the hotel for work, although room had no window, it was clean fully equipped, quite and very important for me smoking free
The front desk gentlemen was helpful and friendly , but luck on the English, nonetheless we managed to communicate easily 
Looking for good clean accommodation, the Masters will give you good value for your money 

Simple nice good value hotel

The large double room with a desk and a larger makeup desk, spacious bathroom with shower and bathroom, all the way from the bathroom fittings to the furniture to the sparse lighting, the sliding window to the street is very narrow, the cleaning staff compensated for the lack of thoroughness with countless bathroom supplies, and the breakfast in a separate corner of the entrance hall was simple. The hotel is located behind Ramada Plaza on the edge of a noisy nightlife district.
