This guest house is more like a hostel. They do charge a reasonable price for a big breakfast (It is not included in the booking). The rooms are kinda small but you get what you pay for. It is very conveniently located, right next to the intercity bus terminal, and access to public transportation is close by as well. Most of the sights are a bit of a walk away but there is plenty of restaurants, korean and western, near by which makes this a perfect hostel to stay at.

The wifi is of good quality, never had a problem with slowness or anything like that.

Getter Than Average

I stayed at the Silla Guesthouse for 2 days while I was in Gyeongju. 

Rather than being a guesthouse per se, this place is more like a hostel/hotel, which is no problem at all. It's in a great location and is incredibly easy to find when you walk along the river - come out of the Express Bus Terminal, face the river/bridge, turn right and walk for about 5 minutes along the main road. The place is huge and says 'Silla Guesthouse' in huge letters, so you can't really miss it.

I encountered a bit of an issue when I went to check in and found out that I would be changing rooms over the 2 days, meaning that I would have to move all my stuff to a locker at check-out time, wait a few hours til check-in time and then move into another room. I also had another issue with booking confusion, whereby I booked a single room for 'private-use', and on the first night (even though I was in a room with bunks), that's what I got. However, when I changed to the second-room I had been booked in, I found out that I had been given a shared dorm room. It turned out to not be that much of a problem though - the staff were happy to move me to the correct room at no extra price. I'd just be careful to double-check that you are getting a private room when you are intending to book a private room!
In general, the rooms were lovely - the private room had futon-style beds and the dorms, comfy bunk beds, rooms were a great size and the bathroom was decent-sized and clean. 

Try to avoid staying in rooms that are close to reception on the first floor as the foyer light stays on until very late at night and the room doors are opaque, so there's lots of light shining through. It's also quite loud with music and lots of noise in the entrance to the hotel, so just try to get placed on the upper floors.

Overall, a decent stay, just a little bit confused and frustrated by the booking/room situation!

Nice rooms, good location, but double-check booking details!!

Stayed 1 night in Silla Guesthouse (the new building). Its near (5-10min walk depending on how fast your pace is) the bus terminal for intercity transfer (ie Busan/Seoul) and also near to bus stand (50/51/60/61/70---in front of Paris Baguette bakery) to Singyeongju KTX station (1200KRW one way). The Wifi is strong. Lockers and bicycle available for hire. Gyeongju town is relative small thus I think cycling around would be fun. The basement area has cafe/bar/lounge. Looks like a cool place to hang out with groups of friend. Near the hotel are small eateries but I was too anxious to try as my Korean is very limited (limited English use by the locals).

I stayed in twin hanok style room. Cool AC was welcome as its was a warm day. The bathroom is functional and the shower gel/shampoo/conditioner are very nice. 

I would certainly recommend this place as a base in Gyeongju.

Access to transportation

It has a good location and is a short walking distance to the Bus Terminal.  I love the architecture in the room, dining area. For the female dormitory room, there is 2 separate toilets. The lockers provided is digital lock. There isn't enough power sockets to charge your devices. So make sure that you are lucky enough to choose the bunk that is near to the socket. It's really worth the stay and the staff is helpful.
