I stayed here for the Olympics since one of my events was at Phoenix Resorts. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the park. There were no taxis and when we called it would take 30 minutes. This was the cheapest one I could get during the price hike during the Olympics. It is simple. It is very basic Korean ondol style cheap hotel rooms, but the mats were new and it was peaceful outside and it was very clean. The staff was nice. The road to the hotel is not good and in the winter was very muddy and difficult for cars to drive in, but on the walk to the hotel from Phoenix you pass many restaurants and convenience stores so you have options to eat at.

Phoenix Resort is the only reason people would come into this area, I think. It is VERY rural and it is a 25,000 wontaxi ride to Pyeongchang Station.

I stayed here with my family in a “Family suite” it wasn’t a suite it was a single room with out beds and very little furniture but sleeping mats on a heated floor. There were no chairs. The room was clean and the bathroom was very basic. It was surprising to see a dirty used bar of soap on the soap dish. We stayed here for a week and never got our bottle water refreshed or our room cleaned. I had to go downstairs to the office to get clean towels. Just an FYI English is not spoken at this hotel and I’m not sure if the restaurant is in service but there are many eating establishments a short walk from the hotel. For the price I paid I expected a lot more than very basic.
